got me listening to smashing pumpkins again and remembering how great they are :thumbsup: Rhinoceros is i think one of the best songs ever. how this band got two full pages of being bashed is beyond me :confused:
 
I actually really like Gish, but nothing after that really
 
Gish is my favorite...siamese dream is cool but got ran into the ground...melancholy has it's moments but blah overall and the new one sucks

Siamese was pretty cool too, seems to be the only album that ever gets air time, probably wayy too much airtime though :lol: :LOL:
 
Yeah, Billy didn't get much love, but the original poster was obviously trying to stir the pot. Siamese Dream has some of the best tones, riffs, and drums of any major recording.
 
I lost interest partway through Mellon Collie.

I agree that "Rhinoceros" is a great tune.

funny I just checked the thread again..."Today" just came on the radio and I just changed the channel. I'm so sick of that song...there's so many better ones on that CD.
 
I have come to the conclusion that internet boards more like to hate groups than like them. Post about any band and there will be plenty of people who can't stand them, which is fine by me.

I like the Pumpkins :rock:
 
Gish rules and I enjoy Siamese Dream as well. BC's voice got incredibly annoying after that IMO...
 
Pisces Iscariot is actually SP's best album IMHO. A must have for fans of Gish and Siamese Dream.

I'm the one who made the original post and did so ONLY regarding a comment Billy made as he was asked if he played guitar hero?

He said "Why would a guitar hero play guitar hero"?

My only comment was- Billy's no guitar hero.
Maybe he is ... maybe I'm wrong - who cares!
He's done great music, but does that makes him a "guitar hero"????

There's a big difference between Billy Corgan being a douchebag for thinking he's a guitar hero and you liking them as a band. As a band, sure, i can see how people can get into their tunes. They do write some good songs. But you have to admit that Corgan is a douchebag with a shitty voice. And his guitar skills are nowhere near what i would think is repensentative of the term Guitar Hero.
