That's it. Peters amps are THE best amps on the planet

I've been playing all my amps for the past year and a half or so, changing every couple months. All sounded great with the band. But now I just plugged in the Peters Halo/Vega/FSM and

I don't know why I keep buying amps and trying to find the best tone possible, I already have it with the Peters. And I've been saying it for the past 5 years  It is the most articulate, punchy and brutal amp ever. It gets smooth and saturated too. It is so versatile with all the options it has.and the clean channel  Oh my god, just awesomely chimey and clear. Can get nice overdrive tones too.

Sorry James for having neglected the Peters for a year or so. I love your amp.

I was supposed to get me another triple with a different channel configuration but got side tracked with other things. I'd get a lower gained config. I think it's time to sell a couple of my amps and focus on another Peters and call it a day, I'm so happy with this amp. Here it is freshly nesting in the jam space ready for tonight's practice.

1st one i ever got was a 50watt hydra. Now i got a Vega/gryphon, thanks to gsxrbusa. Gotta get the chimera/FSM next, tho its gonna have to wait for a while. James knows what he is doing for sure.

Just placed an order for a FSM/Chimera preamp, really looking forward to it.

Just finished practice and wow, cut like a knife and was brutal and tight as hell. I set up my Vega channel as a lower gain smooth lead tone for soloing over cleans and damn does it sing.

Now begins the thought proces of deciding wich amps to sell

That's gonna be hard.

Good stuff Chris!
I discovered this all those years ago back in 2008. Haven't had any amp GAS since.
Mind you I did try a few different Peters flavours, but for me the Gryphon's tonal footprint is where it's at.

I played a Peters at PsychDave's place about 5 years ago. I think Noseminer brought it. I thought it sounded great. Very clean gain and you could adjust the attack. I'm surprised more guys don't have them.

Top shelf builds and wont' break the bank. I bought one used just to check out. Liked it so much I ordered a new one with a different set up.

Been lusting for one for a while. Would love to get a Halo-Regulus-Gnl.

I'd like to try one, but there aren't any around to try. Does JP have PCB in the future to bring the price down?

If I decide on getting another triple, it will be a Halo/Regulus/Gryphon. I miss the mid growl of the Gryphon. It was a bark really. I loved it.

Mouahahahahha!!! That's a good answer. I didn't expect that. What didn't you like about it? Which config did you try?

Thanks

Meh what?

"Meh is an interjection used as an expression of indifference or boredom. It is often regarded as a verbal shrug of the shoulders. The use of the term shows that the speaker is apathetic, uninterested, or indifferent to the question or subject at hand. It is occasionally used as an adjective, meaning something is mediocre or unremarkable."

Yes, i Went to school and learned this particular word but, in what context is it used here? The amp itself, the sounds it generates, the man himself. Or just a lack of interest without any basis. So if the later is the case, why post in this thread?

To me uninterested means exactly that. But still you wanted us to know your lack of interest.

Now we know. Thank you.

I've owned a Hydra/Halo.
NOT "...THE best amps on the planet".

Ah ok, fair enough. Not every amp is made for everybody. Never tried the Hydra, but I know that my favorite channel is the Gryphon. The FSM is awesome too but more modern. The Gryphon has that mid vintage bark that I just love.

Of course by best amp I ment IMO. For me.

At least you tried one.

Please don't get me wrong with my post to you, since I don't mean to argue your opinion of the amp. I certainly don't expect everyone will think Peters amps are "the best amps on the planet" and I can't speak for your preferences, so I can't argue.

I'm curious what sounds you prefer. Since I don't currently recognize your moniker I'm guessing you bought a used amp. It makes me wonder if you might have preferred another channel design than the Hydra. (I make a bunch of others for different preferences, and the Hydra in general is a design I seldom recommend first to people.) Normally I get to discuss a person's preferences when they choose the channel designs in the Professional Series amps they order. I'm wondering if I failed to communicate what the Hydra sounded like to you (if you bought the amp new from me); if that's the case, I apologize! If you bought it used, I wish we could've spoken to discuss what designs you might have preferred. Even if people buy used amps (not from me since I don't sell used amps), I don't mind talking to them. I'd rather have someone buy the amp they want and get a proper idea of how I try to match them to a person's tastes, than buy an amp (new or used) that leaves a bad impression of what I do.

Also for that matter, I know a couple amps got sold quickly a couple times in a row on the used market with bad bias settings. I wonder if this was one of them. (I may be able to confirm this, if it passed through the hands of someone named Tony, because he told me about its bias being out of whack when he bought it on the used market.)

To Chris: I'm glad you still appreciate the amp that much! I'm here when you want to talk. :)

And thanks to everyone else too!
