Playing some fake jazz at the Sunday open jam at Elm Hill Tavern in Nashville yesterday. I'm obviously not a jazzer, but I have a lot of fun noodling around on tunes like this. Blue Bossa, Pent Up House, jazzy version of Mrs Robinson

Haha, the real secret to a master-level jazz bluff is 100% dynamic confidence. If you play a totally wrong, outside note with enough authority, look the bassist dead in the eye, and then slide it up or down one fret... congratulations, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s 'sophisticated outside phrasing.'
