*I've decided to consolidate all of my Boss reviews into one thread. I'll be updating this thread twice a week with a new review. If you want to keep track, subscribe to my youtube channel ::)*

Hey guys, so I'm on a quest. I want to own every compact Boss pedal ever. The idea is to make a YouTube video review for each one. I call my quest:

"The Boss pedal project"

We all started with Boss pedals. like many on this site, I strayed in search of the best of the best, and went the boutique route. After all these years, those colorful little boxes have a charm about them that still intrigues me. My theory is every Boss pedal has useable tones. One just has to dig a little deeper sometimes.

Some of these little guys are hard to find, and pricey! Wish me luck!

New demo!!!

Episode 11: Boss DS-1 Distortion

What is there to say about the DS-1 that hasn't already been said? Not much. Overall, it's a solid distortion pedal. But, it does not sound good in front of a clean amp. You really need to have a dirty sound going on before you add the DS-1. Otherwise, it is just going to sound week. That's the biggest mistake people make with this and other Boss distortion/ overdrive pedals.

When you have other great drive pedals around, it's kind of hard to justify rocking a DS-1 on your board. But, with the right setting, it can make your JCM800 sound great. And for $50 new, it's a no brainer to have one around.
