The Boss Turbo Distortion Is Awesome

Picked up a Boss Turbo Distortion today after hearing Prince's lead tone with one, love it. I recorded a crappy little solo over an existing song of mine (still needs vocals) just now. I dont know how to mix

What do you guys think? anyone else use this as a lead boost?

I'd like to eq out some of the mids next time.

That pedal has been on John Frusciante's board for a long time. Not sure if it's changed. I don't know when he used it, but he always picks cool pedals for his sound. His solo records are always slathered with great guitar sounds, both acoustic and electric...which I'm sure has the Turbo Distortion involved...

Agreed 100% - Frusciante's got it going on. I have to admit though, I've never even tried a BOSS SD, so maybe it's worth a shot

Brad sold me one cheap last year - it's a unique pedal. Nails the Frusciante tone. And it's great for Ozzy RR style solos too. Super hot, nasty, overbearing midrangey fuzzy distortion - but in a good way, if that makes ANY sense.

thanks, i've never heard frusciante's solo stuff, ill have to listen for the TD, lol.

its funny, for a wile i was a snob stuck my nose up at boss and other brands like that, i've now learned not too. there have been times when i've both bought something cheap that turned out to be awesome and bought the most expensive brand of the pedal or speaker i wanted and hated it
