What is a used Suhr Pro going for these days?

I would assume right around $1,500-$1,600.....but, with how bad things are right now, perhaps $1,400 at times. If I remember correctly, I think I saw one sale on eBay a couple of months ago for around $1,400, but it wasn't "mint"....edge of the body was scraped up pretty good if I recall.

That Rasmus guitar looks good to me, would be curious if they are players or not.

Honestly, I don't know for sure, as I've never played one. But, with John Suhr's reputation, I'd assume they'd play very nice. The man is not known for putting out sub-par quality on anything he releases. Also, sense these are so heavily based on Suhr Standards and Moderns models....I'd have to think that they wouldn't fall that short from the real thing. Although, a test-drive would indeed be the deciding factor.

Lots of good new guitars for under a grand these days. Godin makes some great guitars for a fair price.

So what sets the Rasmus guitars apart from the competition? It wasn't merely enough to work closely with what we consider the best guitar manufacturing operation in Asia. We needed to go the extra mile so that the experience of playing a Rasmus is very close to playing a USA–made Suhr in terms of playability and sound. So with this in mind, we decided to offer genuine USA–made Suhr pickups, Japanese–made Gotoh bridges and the same German-made fret wires that we use on our Suhr instruments. The woods are of the highest quality imported from North America (Alder and Maple) and Indonesia (Rosewood) and meet our strict weight guidelines.

But this wasn't enough. Every Rasmus guitar will be Plek'd and set up by Suhr master builders before being shipped from the Suhr factory. Yes, we will disassemble each guitar, Plek the neck with our top–of–the–line Plek Pro computerized fret–leveling machine and do the set–up and QC check ourselves. You can be assured of superb playability due to the Plek process, excellent sound courtesy of the Suhr USA pickups, and reliable functionality offered by the same Gotoh bridges that we use on our own Suhr guitars.

You can also count on the same stellar customer service and product support that has made Suhr Guitars famous in the exclusive high–end market for custom instruments. No detail is too small for us to overlook and we will support the Rasmus guitars in the same way that we've always supported our own USA–made Suhr guitars and other related products. The Rasmus guitars will only be available through authorized Suhr dealers in limited quantities. Rasmus requires a lot of our time and effort and that means there will be a limit to how many we can Plek and set up in our shop. This also means that each Rasmus will get the Suhr attention to quality and workmanship. Our commitment to quality is as strong as ever and this commitment will show in every Rasmus guitar.

The thing about RG3120s is they all sound different.

I had an RG-5XX/7XX mongrel worth nothing that destroyed the 3120 tonally.

Is a Carvin Boltplus or Contour.

Same Jescar Frets either nickel or stainless. Very tight neck pocket. Sperzels.

Similar unplugged resonance and excellent sustain.

Not exactly. While the Rasmus doesn't have Sperzels, it does have everything else you mentioned...and most importantly, the same exact body and neck shape as the Modern, as well as having 24 frets. And, I've got a Carvin Contour 66 myself. The Carvin is indeed a great guitar, but quite differnt from a Suhr Modern.

I'd like to try one for sure. I don't think the pics make it look cheap either. The pics in the auction are a little grainy but that guitar looks extremely well made. The hardware is the same stuff you'd get on a Suhr so it's got to be very good.

I played a Rasmus today for a few minutes. It felt like a nice shredder but i didn't like the flat neck at all. It really didn't feel that cheap. The action was super low on it and it played easy but it had a nice setup and it didn't buzz all over the place. It didn't plug it in. Tonewise, as far as acoustics, it was a bit dead sounding but the action on it was really low. I did just play a new Anderson Drop Top before it which rang like a piano, but the setup and action on that was perfect.

Overall, for the price it seemed like a decent deal.

Nice to hear a review....haven't got my hands on one yet. I feel the same way about the neck carve on those (.780-.830) I've played Suhrs with the same neck and it's just a bit too flat/thin for me. I have to have at least the slighter thicker neck carve (.800-.850, same found on GG model), which still might be too flat/thin for you. Seems like a good price alright, though. I heard they are coming out with the Rasmus Guthrie Govan model sometime this year, which I assume will have his neck carve. It's suppose to have a street price of $1,399 vs. the regular Rasmus price of $999.
