The EVH EL34S 50w Combo kicks ass!! Never tried one before

Sorry for another EVH thread but I think we should all enjoy this transition of our Guitar Hero.

I had never tried an EVH stealth amp before. Yesterday I went into a store and they had one there so I was like what the hell, let me give this a try. I used to own an EVH 5150 III and really liked it. This amp upped the game a bit with how great the blue channel sounded. Wow, was great! More useable gain, and the low mids that I like. Was really impressed.

I couldn't believe how great the clean channel sounded too. Really dug it! Was playing some great little blues stuff and was perfect. I can't believe I've never played one of these before. Nice little amp!

I’d like to play one. I own the original 5150III 2x12. I really love it. I’d like to see how it compares.

I am curious about those Stealth amps also. I have the regular 6L6 50W head, and I love it. Great sound, and great control for low volume playing at home.

I tried out the 100 watt EL34 Stealth half stack a couple years ago at local GC. Sounded great and felt great, easy to play.

Just FYI for everyone, I buckled....LOL.

I drove back an hour to the guitar store I saw it at and traded in some gear and added a bit of cash. I couldn't pass it up, especially with Eddie passing away the other day. I felt like if I can get a good deal on it with some trades, can't hurt at all. LOL

Not surprising, it has quite a bit of gain on tap. I need to play around a bit more with it and just screw around with the settings, etc. It has a headphone jack which surprised me. Gotta see what that sounds like.

It is not completely black, it has that gold color. You may be right, might just be the head. Curious what the "S" is for. I can't imagine something having more gain...LOL

I know.......it looks like all the EL34 combo's have 5150 IIIS on them. Wonder what the S is for??? And yes I'll bring the Peavey's over and we'll rock 'em out!!!!

That sounds like the EL34 model, not the Stealth model. The EL34 models are all black and gold.
