Like many of you I have known Ralph aka gainfreak on the forums for many years. Ralph captures truely killer tones but even more incredible is his playing. Ralphs vibrato, phrasing and note choice make his playing worth listening to. This vid demonstrates these qualities. Enjoy!

I've been a fan ever since I heard him bust out Whitesnake with a Mesa Mark series and a crispy cream!  That was ages ago.... :D

Yeah i think Ralph and Kage made the Mk IV sound evil with that pedal. Good flashback!

Miss having them around here. They chime in over at GAB once in a while. I touch base with them on Facebook here and there. Hopefully they will come around again someday. Great contributors and better people!

Sounds great.

Where is Ralph anyways? Did he fall off' the planet?

Absolutely love Ralph's tone on this. Ralph's all over Facebook. Seems like his tribute band is playing all the time. Good for him.

Mike Fortin has got the ear man.

That amp sounds ridiculously good - and the playing is killer

Always enjoyed Ralph's playing/clips since I first heard him.

Whatever gear he happens to be playing through is almost inconsequential (to me) and I don't mean that in a derogatory manner at all I'm just a fan of a good player first and foremost.

I'm also a big fan of some of the gear that he has/had played through at one time or another as well. :)

I like Ralph's playing too through everything, but to be honest, this is my favorite tone I have ever heard him with. I congratulate him for not trying to turn the gain up so far he snapped the pot off. :D

Ralph is awesome and a great dude. I haven't seen him in a few years. He is one of those guys who should have been in a band that made albums because he's a lot better than most of the guys who are.

As far as tone....Ralph always sounded best in person with a Mesa mark IV. Mike Fortin makes KILLER stuff though.

Hells yeah...that was nothing short of awesome. That was my Marshall (when it was stock). Mike did a great job for sure.

Ralph is truly one of the good guys

Got to throw Kage in the ring too. Another great guy and player who can hang with anyone. I remember way back in the day at HCAF when a video was posted of Kage playing at the GC Guitarmageddon contest with a Line 6 HD-147 and an Ibanez PGM. Great chops and as cool as Ralph!
