The honeymoon is over and All I can say is, I DO, I love this amp, you can turn any pot anywhere and it sounds great, not a bad sound in this amp :rock: I put a new set of JJ E34L's in it, I went and picked up from Bob @ Euro Tubes, their local for me and I put 3 old mullard 12ax7's in the preamps and a old JJ ecc83 in the PI, and WOW, it sounded awesomely great before, but it kills now, anyway had a few drinks and I can't stop playing this amp, it makes you want to play, it's all I think about all day at work, I can't wait to get home to play it, Friedmans mods are KILLER, just felt like sharing

I bought my first Marshall, 1981 JCM 800 2204 in 1985 when I was 20 years old I still have it ( it's in my avatar ) and a 1977 jmp2203 and a bray modded 1996 plexi 1987 and they are all great sounding killer amps, but they can't touch the Purplexi :rock:

when you bought the new tubes do you remember what the rating was on them? I am thinking of running a new set of e34L JJ's in another amp I am getting straightened out and I am wondering if the break up point on these should be the same as the SED'S . :confused:
The reason I say this is, if you read up on these e34L's they are supposed to have higher headroom, with bigger bottom and later break up. With sed's I go with middle to late break up for the best tones. Just curious.
Oh, Ned is a solid guy to deal with and Congrats on a KILLER AMP!

I thought you didn't like the Friedman mods? I didn't really care for his Brown Eye, it wasn't open enough for me.

I wasn't sure at first but the last 5 or so Clips I heard were freaking killer and Id really love to play one of his amps. As far as openess, Ive played Boogies for many years, so you know that I really Don't mind compression :hys:
