Actually, liberal would describe a forum that lets you get away with just about anything... In terms of TGP policy, I think conservative may be a more apt description.

If TGP is basing its decision to ban individuals based on donating member status (not on principle), this would be a fascist policy.

About a year and a half ago when the iPhone 5 came out and all the guys were in a flutter to get it...someone posted that they don't see much difference.....I posted that it now comes in 5 gay colors.

Big Mike emailed me and said he was banning me for 30 days for a "Hate Crime"! I told him he was an idiot and I would prefer to be banned for life. So...he did. The place is full of goofballs.

TGP = superiority complex + stuck in the 60's. Only Marshall Plexi's and Fender twins, and Dumbles and Fender strats and Gibsons exist. Everything else is...? Something inferior. It's a strange place where it seems to be dominated by laywers and dentists (loaded with cash) who post there rather than actual musicians. I actually saw a topic where someone posted their bank account statement and it went on for pages and pages. There are good posters but the overall vibe is a strange place.

The Gear Page is a obviously a great resource for purchasing, and for seeking answers to specific questions. I don't blame them for wanting to run a clean house, but the fact that they choose to ban members by mere suggestion is disturbing. There is a way to circumvent the permanently banned status, but why bother? The Gear Page is a cork-sniffers oligarchy, where the largest of donators receive preferential treatment. I'm surprised no one has yet marketed a rack mountable humidor, especially made for the nerds on The Gear Page.
