Mad Dog on the MLB Wild Card Format and how the MLB in a sense is leading other sports from NFL to NBA in how a Playoff/Postseason should be like...... Just look at the success of the new Wild Card format.....


I do agree with Mad Dog here..... I mean NBA Playoffs take forever and the quality is watered down with too many teams in it......


 
Here's to you again...... We will never have another one like him...... But that's life..... You come, you're here on this planet for some time and then you leave...... It's not all about winning....... Somethings like character, class, respect and a love of the game and love of life in general are more important than winning......


It was hard to be happy after yesterdays win but it was a good game and Garrett wouldn't have wanted it any other way.......... He really provided amazing insight in every postgame or pregame show he was in and not many people understood the game on the level he did....... The Angels could have easily lost the game too but they remained frosty after coming back from Yankees and home to the fans....... They did good for Anderson.

Again I can't understate what a real positive role model for the community and what Garret meant to the people here in Anaheim....... Sometimes we took it for granted especially as he was so young at 53, no one could have imagined or expected this to happen. He was so vibrant and healthy looking and just had this class, he looked like a Senator or a Statesman of a sort..... He was a real Ambassador of the game and Baseball and the town here too.....


Garret teaches us aside from exemplifying an amazing character that accomplishments in life and what one does in life like play for 17 seasons as he did or win a World Series or anything really matters little or not at all if you don't make a positive impact on to those around you and those in your community..... Because in the end you're not taking those accomplishments with you after you leave this Earth .....


What remains is what one leaves behind.......



And the impact they left on those around them and their community and to this point not many had a such a huge impact here in Anaheim and in the Baseball world here and the community like Garret Anderson.......


Goodbye and thank you for all that you did...... OF/Anaheim Angels/#16 Garret Anderson.

Pretty cool interview here with McAfee...... Trout looked younger this season too .... Apparently he using this machine called "The Ammortal", its like some pod he gets in and it just "resets" his body according to him and has helped him a lot. He uses it before or after games sometimes too......


Pretty nuts and never heard of it, sound amazing...... Wild stuff..... :unsure:

Haven't really watched in 4 days

Its been horrible. Reminds me of the mid 70s to early 80s era

Problem is heads need to roll from the top down not vice versa

Mandoza didn't chose his cards. He has only what was dealt to him. Not his fault if 9 guys cant hit a damn baseball.

Who chose and traded for this disasterous team.

We had something like 5 managers in the last 15 yrs. Results are the same

No offense. Cant blame Field level leadership for that

Yes true...... I mean this goes back to the Soto contract too...... All the money spent there could have been spent on renewing Alonsos contract..... Gotten other arms or platoons etc etc and just making a better team in general spending money smarter and more wisely.


The Yankees for example were better off going with Bellinger for example and other moves and they made Postseason last season as a result at the least when the Mets who went for Soto didn't..... the Mets went with Soto with little other real resources to construct a better team...... yeah they got Soto but what good did it do them...... I mean I want to say at the end of the day Mendoza didn't make the team but last season what was the excuse then and now with spending Dodgers money (as they always have tbh recently) what is it now.....


This isn't just any other team..... It's the Mets who spend Dodgers money and are well below .500..... Something's wrong and well it's been wrong since last season they failed to make Playoffs.


Whatever the case is there is a complete lack of leadership it seems and maybe...... Maybe they can turn it around and who knows what the problem is but something's gotta give :dunno:

Right on Thank you Brother Von means a lot but right now I'm more than happy to just watch games, enjoy Baseball and just appreciate the game and the players.....


I will leave the broadcasting to the "experts"..... And well nvm the "experts" but the real ones like Garret Anderson, Mark Gubicza, Tim Salmon, Mark DeRosa, Lauren Shehadi, Robert Flores, Brian Kenny, Harold Reynolds, Mad Dog, Ken Rosenthal, David Sampson, Stephen A Smith etc etc and others who respectfully IMO do an amazing job already.


I'm just a fan and maybe one day something like that could happen if I am lucky enough......... And that is one big if.....



But right now I'm more than happy to just be a fan and enjoy this great sport like everybody else *_*

I dont know where they match LAs payroll with players very few in NY even heard of until this year.

I had no idea who simiens, bochette, Roberts and the rest were until spring training

I mean they spent the name on players with names but IMO they didn't look deeper into what they were getting. I mean Bichette ain't bad and one thinks on paper you have him, Lindor and Soto that teams going to kick ass but if they couldn't do it last season with Alonso and others including Soto.........


Imo it's not a money problem...... It's a Glue problem to put it in Baseball terms .... There just isn't any Glue there in the team and that is hard to explain ..... You cant buy Glue with money.

I say base salery and pay on performance

If youre Batting .200 that week you dont get paid.

Same as in our world
If i dont produce i take less home

I think lindor has 2 hits and 1 RBI 3 weeks in.

But he really never got hot until late May

Still getting his millions regardless
