Key take away for me was probably Red Sox vs Yankees.....
Coming out of September into October or postseason...... The numbers had Yankees as a stronger team in OPS and ERA..... But I mean Yankees did have some tough series but a lot of it was against the White Sox, Orioles and the Houston we got a Problem 2025 Astros..... A lot of that production now kind of seems irrationally exuberant and would explain kind of why the Yankees simply didn't show up aside from Volpe.....
Relative to each other for the final month of September the Red Sox just had a tougher schedule than the Yankees..... And while the numbers show the Yankees are better on paper a lot of that production is irrationally exuberant given the lower quality teams they faced relative to the better teams the Red Sox were facing at the time looking and hunting for a WC spot or clinch their division.
