Hi Antonio !

Cause of Peters acccident, we were not able to deliver the
cabinets soon enough, sorry. But I think the Engl cabs sounded
great.

Btw, Soulfly is using Diezel anyway.
Thanks for the pics,

Peter

soulfly with diezel: best sounding guitar ever....and best of all: herbert channel 2, not the 3.

engl cabs sound great, but nothing compare with diezel`s cab. people at hvc spain do the job, nice people!
viñarock festival is the most important festival here, 90.000 people.

nice cabs:

Is that front or realoaded?

Talking of cabs...

I notice your cabs are in flightcases and made me think of a question. How does this affect the sound? At the mo' I have a marshall one, that I'm gonna replace when I can afford it. If I put my current cab directly on the stage it sounds different to if I put it on a crate, and whether it has it's wheels on or not, etc., because of the way the cabinet acoutically couples to the floor, and whether the floor is solid, or like a wooden stage, etc.

I think Orange cabs are designed with skids, not wheels, to purposely help them couple to the floor for extra bass.

Are they completely surrounded in foam in the flight case (underneath too)? How thick is it? If so do they give less bass?

So, how is best to audition a cab, and how is it best to use it live? Sometimes soundmen complain there's too much bass coming off my rig through the floor on some stages, but other times not. It feels nicer if my feet feel the rumble though! But what is the "correct"/"best" way to mount/use a cab, how does it affect the tone, and how much do flight cases affect this (good or bad)?

Do you have an opinion Peter, since you designed it to sound best a certain way!?!

Maybe we should all fit spikes on the bottom of our cabs like my hi-fi speakers!

Well, that´s a really good question!!! I´d like to know that too, cuz I´m currently thinking about getting a Case for a Diezel 4x12" F.

are rearloaded v30. just fit me well. frontloaded are no my cup of tea.
flight cases added a little of bottom end, but doesnt affect the mic. its a stage or room sound, not for mic.

the thickness of foam is 2cm. and there´s no casters or anything, its a very close soundin´like the orange cab.

:m16:

Thx for the fast reply dude!

Another question for me would be if it pays off to have two 4x12" Diezel cabs with ur Herbert? Is there a big sound difference? I mean in live situation they only mic one, which is also what they do in the studio ... so ...

Thx for ur answer

two cabs always! you squeeze all the amp´s potential. less compress, more dinamics, and more power and bottom end.

save for two cabs, dude!

ok...thx! then it´s bye bye for my old Mesa Recto Cab. I´m thinking about doin a mix. One 4x12" F with V30 and one 4x12" with the custom speakers. Should be earthshattering...

I nearly ordered 2 cabs when I first got my amp but for my situation (not gigging much yet and I'm still a student) I think it'd have been quite stupid.

I love your rig Berni, your avatar is awesome!

Berni, your tones SLAY!!! Please tell me that those tones on the "dame aire" YouTube vid are pure Herbert without an EQ in the loop or at the board.
