In the last 5 years what's the most excited you've been while waiting for a piece of gear. I'm talking like salivating almost..... which amp/guitar/fx/ etc?

IMO, I'venever been so excited as to when I bought my Diezel Einstein....my first diezel, I just couldn't help myself.

:)

Recently it was the Kemper for sure.... seeing as how the only guitar head I've purchased recently is the VH-4... which I seem to have an issue with buying them every couple months LoL...

...but yea, was REALLY stoked when I pulled the trigger on the Kemper... it delivers in spades as far as sound quality is concerned, but for live use, the interface, and just the overall clunkiness of the interface... I sent it back...

I totally take that back... wow... I have a custom guitar being built at the moment that has me more excited than anything in my entire music career... will be posting an EPIC NGD when it arrives...

My next amp.
I think that statement can be applied to about 80% of this board, with 15% being "My next guitar." The other 5%? Well, they just do not fit in here!!

Got a custom LP being built for me to specs Gibson wouldn't do. Can't wait.

Got my New Stratocaster back this week. All new pickups, electronics, plastic, setup. Haven't been this excited about a guitar in a LONG time. I think I gasped when I opened the case! :inlove:

I'm always excited when I'm waiting for my next guitar/amp/pedal etc.

The last time was when I was waiting for the London City to arrive so I could test it with the Radial I had bought just a few weeks before that.

Might say I'm easily aroused

Well, I joined here in '08 so in the past 4 years I've been ecstatic about more gear than I can even comprehend. I was pretty damn excited about getting my Mark IV, and I've always felt giddy over the thought of owning a Bogner 20th XTC or Friedman.

1994 Mesa Tremoverb 120W Head :inlove:

My ESP M-II Special Custom order that took ~2 years ranks up there too, but the neck was defective upon first arrival. 1.5 years for the build and ship, another 5 months for warranty repair by ESP custom shop, and its the best playing guitar i have ever came across, easily hangs with TA's.

Was that the wrecked T'verb that you got Matt? Did you get that one fixed or find another amp?

Yes that is the same one where the seller backed out leaving me high and dry because all of his past 99,000 successful sells meant its physically impossible for something bad happen with his blocks of styrofoam, a reused single ply box, and not pulling tubes.

They honored the full value for repair instead of the claimed damages quote which was their call not mine. Rightfully so too, you do not treat packages like that no matter what is in them.

A few words of advice for anyone using USPS. If you buy from APO address you cannot file a damaged claim until 45 days have passed. There is a minimum time period for APO shipments and also a maximum time period for all items which is not stated anywhere but on their website - be careful as form 1000's do not have this stated in the fine print. If you file before this minimum time period and wait for the claims letter you will be denied, and it will already be too late to submit another claim.

USPS shipment requirements are not meant for high dollar heavy items. Pack your shit right the first time. Do not reuse boxes. Do not use peanuts to protect items as peanuts are meant to protect boxes. Use bubble wrap to protect items, use re-enforced box corner protectors with added protection between the item and the box corner protector, wrap all tubes in bubble wrap. Double box items.

USPS expedited shipping is the only shipping option they offer that has time and location updates which is standard for Fedex and UPS. USPS normal shipping only posts the time it was accepted and whether it made it to the destination.

You cannot deny a damaged package for shipping, you have to accept it regardless of damages. Instead take the box, packaging, and item to USPS immediately - your local post master has to create a damage report of their own to the claims department for USPS.

When the seller pays USPS for the shipping, require the seller to make copies of all insurance receipts, mailing receipt that has the weight and dimensions, as well as customs paperwork receipts on the spot for them to keep. Have the seller send the original receipts inside a receipt pouch attached to the box with the item which can be purchased at any office supply retail chain.

Anything purchased overseas that is damaged off the plane USPS marks the box with a yellow sticker. If the damaged package does not have a yellow sticker it was damaged enroute after overseas shipping in sorting. Make 4 copies of everything and keep them all. Get quotes of value from the manufacturer directly, not from online sites like ebay. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. The time and date you received the package, the name of the driver, the dates and times of payment, the for sale ads, full names of both parties involved.

Ive never been burned, and never been screwed. Never used USPS before but glad i (we?) did this time around - USPS is the only shipping company to allow the seller or the buyer to file the claim. UPS and Fedex require the seller to file. If the seller decides to fuck you over and refuse to file a claim then you're fucked.
