I'll be finding out for myself soon.
And clips through my Peters GNL to follow.

:)

I have one in the the bridge of my silver burst LPC. Absolutely love it.

Heya Laur. How's things?

That's good to hear.
Wade has recommended the Detroiter set to me a couple times in the past, but I've always shied away from them worried that they wouldn't be hot enough for my tastes.

They are the hottest hot PAF I have ever played. Real bite and snarl in the mids. The most accurate description that users say is that it sounds like it has 10% P90 in its DNA.
Great for AC/DC and snarly rock, and load on the gain for 80's thrash. Dave Linsk from Overkill uses these.

Bite and snarl in the mids is good.
And I really like what Wade had to say about the Detroiters:
"The Detroiters are clean, almost P90ish, with great break up and fast attack. The Detroiter has a clear chewiness, and gets warm in the soloing registers, but retains detail without being overly harsh or piercing."

How about the Detroiter neck?
How does it do for clean tones and high-gain lead tones?

The cleans of the detroiter neck and bridge are not great, but for high gain leads, the neck is as good as it gets.

That's good to hear regarding lead tones.
But yeah I'm not really expecting too much from the Detroiter set for clean tones.
Have you tried coil-splits with the Detroiters for clean tones, or only full humbucking?

Just humbucking. Lower output pickups generally don't work as well split.

You better make some clip Gavin! Miss your horror themed tunes you were writing back in the day.

Yeah results can be mixed, but generally for clean tones I vastly prefer split or parallel tones over humbucking.

Chad mate, how's things? :)
Yup I plan on making some new tunes. Just getting back into guitar after a long break.
Having three kids all under 5 years of age put a stop to my music making.
