My standard arrived yesterday afternoon right before I went out so I didn't get to try it out. Once I got home last night, I noticed that firmware 10.0 was available so downloaded, installed...and went straight for the heralded Marsha sims. I've gotta say...this model might just be the best high gain hot rodded marshall amp model that's been put out...by anyone. I really didn't have to adjust anything on it. Anyone else give it a whirl yet?

I've never really been a Marshall guy but I love the Marsha. Dave was really cool to work with. Sent me prototype #1 to use as the reference.

One of these days I've gotta get up to your place Cliff. I'm in Rhode Island...I have a couple of buddies seriously thinking of buying an axe-fx. Thanks for the free updates!

Yeah, a friend of mine was saying the same thing -- that it's incredible...and he actually has a Marsha to compare it to. He said he planned on doing a comparison clip this weekend.

Sweet - I'm close to having enough saved to get an Ultra !!

without a doubt Cliffs best sim yet. Its insanely good

Dumb question... I updated the firmware and I assume it was successful as it shows 10.01 but I do not see the Marsha amp models.

If you are using the pc editor, it won't be shown until you update it.

Never mind. Operator error! Needed to update the editor.

Just got the AXE FX 10.0 update and holy$h*t

All I can say is.... 'It just saved me $1000 and modding my original JCM 2203 800"

I'll probably send it to Fortin to get it modded now   Unless Fortin will send a Bones over to Fractal

Plus I got the Bogner Shiva and the New Uber. I haven't got to those yet just amazed by the Marsha models :worship:

And its FOR FREE!!!

Gotta love it Man!!

Fractal audio

Just to answer a few questions ive been getting, Fractal and Tone Merchants/Rack Systems have a very close working relationship and are great friends. When Cliff approached me about modeling the Marsha, we had no hesitation and were excited. Not only do we sell and fully support Fractal/Atomic as colleagues and friends, we believe that the Axe fx and the Marsha or any other amazing tube amp for that matter should pose no threat to each other. And on a personal note, I really wanted to see what Cliff could do if he not only had the Marsha, but also had a schematic from Friedman and had access to Friedman to answer any questions while he modeled the Marsha.

The result, was astounding!!! We couldnt be happier with the Marsha model. Hopefully, this was just the beginning.

Ok, ask and you shall receive

what this clip is- a couple simple riffs, and it's Marsha #2 (second one made) on the BE channel and the Axe FX Marsha (BE)... I plugged the head into my Faustine attenuator set for load and took the line out into my interface. In Logic, I used a Red Wirez greenback sim mic'd with a 57.

Then I plugged the axe fx into my interface, and used the same Red Wirez greenback sim (no cab simulation used on the Axe FX).

This way, you hear the real amp, and the modeled amp, fed into exactly the same "cab and mic".

You guys tell me which is which!

Wow Pete, those are pretty damn close. Guessing #2 is the Axe.

No idea...FWIW prefer the second one, slightly less ratty around the edges so if I was a guessing man I'd say first one is the amp.

I figured you'd get a lot of mileage from the 80s guys with this...
