The new Marsha sim is WOW

Second one is the real amp, Nonethless i prefer that one by far.

My guess is second clip = real amp, but they are damn close

I might have to break out Def Leppards "High and Dry" after hearing those clips
I'm not sure which I liked better. Thought the first amp was a little thicker sounding.

Found this earlier today. Sweet Child played in full with Marsha sim on Axe version 10.

Ok, ask and you shall receive

what this clip is- a couple simple riffs, and it's Marsha #2 (second one made) on the BE channel and the Axe FX Marsha (BE)... I plugged the head into my Faustine attenuator set for load and took the line out into my interface. In Logic, I used a Red Wirez greenback sim mic'd with a 57.

Then I plugged the axe fx into my interface, and used the same Red Wirez greenback sim (no cab simulation used on the Axe FX).

This way, you hear the real amp, and the modeled amp, fed into exactly the same "cab and mic".

You guys tell me which is which!

They sound pretty darn close texturally. Clip 1 sounded fuller and bigger however and I liked it a tad more. But pretty close.

Both Marsha's are really nice! I just updated today and programed a couple Marsha patches and they are great sounding. I really like the Brown boosted with the gain way up also.

Goddammit......been procrastinating the last 6 months but finally been pushed over the edge....must have one, sounds fantastic

I've never really been a Marshall guy but I love the Marsha. Dave was really cool to work with. Sent me prototype #1 to use as the reference.
I figured you'd get a lot of mileage from the 80s guys with this...

So what are you saying here?? :D

No clue but it sounds great.

Oddly enough I had that sound pretty much covered with one of my modded marshall sims and A LOT of EQ'ing ... What I didn't have was the feel. That marsha sim has since allowed me to ditch a lot of the EQ that I was using and the feel of it is simply outstanding....so YES The 80's guys will get a lot of milage out of it and oddly enough Im using that new SIM for my 80's tribute band and it kicks all sort of ass :hys:

Hey there Pete...

First Half of clip: Sounded a bit livelier, it's got a bit more low end growl... I'm guessing it's the real deal.

Second Half of clip: Sounded a bit more familiar especially the intro and outro "noise"... ;) The C right before the palm mute and open chord at 0:32 has a round hollowness that I'm familiar with as well. The last note also has a familiar chime I'm very familiar with (microphonic ringing sound of the bridge? I still can't figure it out on my setup with two different guitars...). With all this said I'm guessing this is the Axe-fx only because it sounds familiar to my ears...

If I'm wrong then Cliff has just blown my mind!!!! :D

Either way they both sound freaking close!!!!

Both sound great, but my guess is #1 is the real amp. If the 1st part is the Axe, then I need to be buying one asap! Lol!

I hear a difference, but to ask me which is which would be pushing it. One of them (#2) has a bit more lower mid growl, which would say to me that it might be the real one...

My standard arrived yesterday afternoon right before I went out so I didn't get to try it out. Once I got home last night, I noticed that firmware 10.0 was available so downloaded, installed...and went straight for the heralded Marsha sims. I've gotta say...this model might just be the best high gain hot rodded marshall amp model that's been put out...by anyone. I really didn't have to adjust anything on it. Anyone else give it a whirl yet?

That's exactly what I said when I played the HBE sim last night.....WOW....

#2 is the axe i'm pretty sure. I hear slightly more compression, it's less open.
but the important thing : both clips rules

#1 sounds like the Marsha. #2 is less punchy and more compressed and it seems like the feel and response are a bit off, b/c I'm sure the playing is the same...

Both sound pretty good and pretty close. I'd say the first is the real amp, but could be wrong.

Let's hear the beginning of the first clip so we can hear how noisy it is... whichever one is quieter is likely the axe-fx.

Pete
