Now all of the sudden I wonder is Rig-talk turning into SS.org?

For anyone curious of wtf I am talking about: I replied to a post today. There was nothing offensive about it whatsoever.

I have seriously destroyed people on here and have talked alot of shit and said some crazy things and that is ok. But god forbid I add a joking reply to a thread.

Edit: To add....The reason I have been coming to Rig-Talk over the years as the #1 forum and dealing with people here over other forums and bought from Brad was because of the laid back Moderation and the "self policing". That is what Rig-Talk has over any other forum and why I keep coming back mostly. Take that away and what do I get over another place?

Lets face it, The amount of users here and activity is very small compared to other forums. Most of the guys here (no offense) are 80's rockers and I am a metal freak. What other reason would there be to come here if the mods start turing into Nazis? probably zero.

I would prefer a message stating why my post was removed and I request that whoever it was to man up and introduce yourself.

To make it worse, it was in a thread where people were making fun of people for not following the board rules.

haha.. okok Sometimes I post before I proofread. I am in fact to blame by linking that sale. I was not thinking about the rules at the time.

It was a bit harsh how I worded this thread but I really do feel what I wrote to an extent. I agree with James Lugo and have seen it happen (good people driven away) and it sucks.

However for me personally, on the scale I feel that this place is still superior to the others and mainly for the reasons of the way things are moderated here. It just out weighs the other BS for me.

I truly feel that when you let us self police it works. When someone is just wanting to troll, they get off on the attention. Whenever that shit is ignored they either move on, wisen up and post right or they just simply move on.

At the same time, if the line is crossed then yeah I guess I had it coming.

For the record I am pretty much an asshole. I feel that I am a good person but I definitely let the forum emotions take over from time to time. It is hard to see through text but 99% of the time I am either being sarcastic or ironic and just cracking jokes. Obviously my jokes are bad and I should work on them.

As for seeing this place going downhill, call me naiive, but I just don't see it(all due respect to James). I've heard that sentiment echoed here a bunch of times but I've always found this forum has been full of super cool dudes that are quick to help and even quicker to bust your balls ) It always seems good hearted, however, save for a few trolls that get off on the negative attention.

In regards to the self policing, this definitely works and I agree with you completely. Just when I see rules broken and I can quickly go about fixing it, I usually do(ie deleting no pic ads, deleting pre 24 hour bumps etc.....)
