The billionaires are buying up base load electricity from Nuclear/Coal/LNG plants with contracts even though these plants were built with partially public utility funds. I imagine they will throw the average utility consumer on the intermittent Wind/Solar grid if they can somehow bifurcate the grid's generation systems ie: continual baseload production verus intermittent wind/solar leading to blackout brownouts at peak demands.

The US grid system is aged and has not been upgrade for decades to where it should be for a first world nation. The US grid was already facing challenges before this AI demand.

I think the pushback will start when the rolling brown/blackouts do.

I think it's odd; the local power company NIPSCO is trying to merge into the property insurance business (water/sewage/elec)...just another money grab, like all those companies. I would think they could stay busy providing & maintaining electrical service....but I get a solicitation once or more a month.
