You have been called, short notice, to fill in at a Neo-Soul gig at the velvet cladded interior of the Holiday Inn Lot Lizard Lounge...

And rumor has it "the man" (you know who who that Smooth bastard is) will be there to watch your set....

The issue is, @JackBootedThug borrowed your PRS, and traded it for 3 pairs of Tan pants, a case of Soul Glow and some Jerry Curl...

So to make you best impression on the man, you grab you Boogie (Signed by Randall Smith, because you are no peasant) and your guitar....

The problem is, you don't have your Neo-Soul Vibe Machine....

What guitar do you grab out of your collection to try and keep the man's attention to you smooth vibe and feel without your quilted tonewood panties soiler?

I'm grabbing my cutting board...

What will you do?

Let's be honest, no legit neo soul bro would be without a second PRS and if Thug traded them both for a Budda and a couple Ibanez' you'd still have a JAMES TYLER GUITAR stashed somewhere behind your toilet for emergencies.

I'm taking my flamed maple Warrior. Not only does it look similar to modern style guitars like a Suhr, it has sweet a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF set and gets only the sweetest toanz while also excelling at dorian and lydian phrases.

Also, it's an expensive guitar, and we all know the most soulful sounds come from guitars that cost above $3,000.

...and come factory equipped with the lightweight bowel tuners cough pee argh esss cough cough.

@JackBootedThug needs to weigh in on this thread. After all, he sold my PRS from out beneath me.

I stopped staining guitars after that one because I feel like I will never do better lol.
I tried to mix the “burst” vibe with the relic vibe and just made little mini bursts where the trendy relic spots would be

Thing is SICK. I feel like Paul Reed Smith is seeing that figured top right now and it's is burning his ass with jealousy.. My only beef would be I'd have to gold hardware for that extra neo soul legitimacy.

@Dan Gleesak where did that sweet axe come from anyhow? I might've asked you that before. Just seems super versatile. Like it'd be good for both kinds of music, blues AND neo soul.

I actually used this as my main guitar for most of my time playing with a Jazz Ensemble.
Might wanna edit that post since you used the "j word" in it. Now you understand I hide behind the guise of neo soul=freedom. This is like the last guitar forum I haven't been banned from, which is weird cause I don't even play guitar.

Just a parts guitar I threw together. I got the unfinished body off a dude on Reverb. The neck is a Gibson scale from Warmoth. Pickups are Rio Grande Buffalo-trons and trem is a Duesenberg Radiator I think. I was obviously going for the Billy Gibbons vibe at the time.
Oh and a sweet strap from Well-Hung

I did actually think about some gold hardware but the whole project stemmed from these Buffalo nickel knobs I had and really wanted to use lol
