What a pass by Ville Leino!!! I hope that Wings' Finns, Leino and Filppula, will take the cup! GO WINGS!

Osgood stole this one. If not for him, the game is 3-1 or 4-1 or more in the second period and everything changes. Lucky goals and bad bounces? That's what happens when you get the puck on net.

Do you ever cheer for any professional athletes that aren't Finnish? I mean, I get the national pride thing...but c'mon.

The encouraging thing is that the teams seem pretty evenly matched. I thought the Pens dominated play in the 2nd but Osgood kept them from scoring. We actually outshot them for the game which I don't think happened at all last year. Bad bounces are a part of the game and they certainly weren't going our way tonight. I didn't see the total Detroit domination that I saw in games 1 and 2 last year where they seemed to be able to do whatever they wanted and possesed the puck constantly.

If we can even things up tonight I like our chances coming back home. If we go down 0-2 that's going to be a pretty big hill to climb.

GO PENS!!!

The Wings dominated late in the game with the lead, so I think it's key to bury those early chances and hopefully go into the 3rd with a lead tonight. I thought the Pens had the better of the play through most of the first two periods. When they got their forecheck going, the Wings didn't handle it any better than any of the other teams have. But giving credit where it's due, Zetterberg played a great game, Osgood played a great game.

Sure but I've always liked Detroit more. Even when Jagr and Lemieux were playing for Pittsburgh... Why so upset?

What if Detroit traded their Finnish guys to the Pens? Would you then be a Pens fan? Just curious.

I think the biggest difference in this series is Osgood has been really on his game, and Fleury has let some very stoppable goals in the net. Long way from done....still like my original forecast of Detroit in 6.

The main difference has been Fluery vs. Osgood. Fluery has let in a couple softies which changed the momentum of the games.

The 2nd goal was a gift from the refs. Hossa snaps Dupuis' stick and nothing is called and they score off it. I understand the refs wanting to "let them play", but you have to call that. No excuse for the 3rd goal though. I'm not giving up hope. After the first two games last year I didn't think we could play with them at all and we went on to split the next two. We are playing MUCH better than that this year. Unfortunately the result is the same. They say a series really hasn't started until the home team loses a game so let's see what happens tomorrow night. Maybe Sid and Guerin can NOT hit the post next time.

GO PENS!!!

Detroit is probably my all time favorite NHL team...

Sidney 'Jesus the Sequel' Crosby and Evgeni 'Goddamn My Nickname is Sweet Because It's Almost Like This Poster's Name' Malkin were averaging 1.65 points per game going into the Finals.

After two games, Malkin has only two points and is -2 overall.

Crosby has (add the zero to the zero, carry the zero... don't forget the remainder of zero point zero zero zero equals...) zero points and is -1 overall.

Yeah, Osgood is the only one keeping us in this... :jerkit: Are these superstuds just not playing to their full potential or is it possible that the other five players on the ice have something to do with it?

That being said, the Pens are playing very well in their end and they're giving us trouble in our end by not allowing us to play the puck possession game we love to play. It's still a hard-fought series as predicted. We need to eliminate the neutral zone/blue line turnovers because the Pens will eventually capitalize on them. Their guns are too big not to. If we can split the games in Pittsburgh then I like our chances coming back home and keeping Lord Stanley's Cup in Detroit.

Not just Osgood. The refs are helping too.

Actually, I think the posts are helping more than the refs   I like that the refs aren't calling everything in sight, it's nice to just let the players decide the outcome of the game. The Pens and Wings were both getting their cheap shots in. Great stuff to watch either way!

I'll be so bored when the finals are over, nothing else on TV.....

I don't recall anybody saying Osgood was keeping you in this. What was said is that he has been the difference. Stopping Malkin on that breakaway in game 1 and point blank last night. Stopping Sid point blank last night. Not to mention Sid's shot hitting the far post and sliding all the way acorss the crease. The two teams are pretty evenly matched and while Sid may not have any points, Zetterberg isn't exactly lighting it up either with one whole point. You could say they are cancelling each other out.

I also noticed that Lidstrom "The greatest hockey player who ever lived" has ZERO points. Let me see...that's zero, carry the zero...blah blah. ;)

Look, be happy your team is doing well. The "smug" routine gets old. Afterall, you are a fan of the "greatest organization in the history of sports". Try to have some class.

bstaley, my post wasn't directed at you. I agree on the class thing. You're showing the most class out of the Pens Fans, so keep it up. I meant to say that in my last post. Sometimes you gotta fight fire with fire though. This is all pretty light at this point so I don't see the harm in pointing the facts out. Saying Lidstrom has zero points in the same breath as Crosby and Malkin is a little silly, you gotta admit. Either way, I don't care who you point out on the Wings because at the end of the game we've been on top. Crosby and Malkin are your goal scorers and they're performing well below average and that's got to do with more than Osgood playing. That was my point, quite simply. Again, it wasn't directed at you.

Is it Tuesday yet? :aww:

The Malkin hit on Osgood at the end of the came was low class cry baby bullshit. He should have gotten his ass handed to him more than he did.

The Abdelkader goal was poetry. Makes you really wonder what the Pens were thinking by leting that happen. They are definitely an excellent team but need to find a way to beat Osgood if they are gonna have a chance. Crying about bad bounces and the refs ain't gonna get it done. :poke: :boxer:
