Finally finished!! This project started 8 months ago and turned out better than expected. My first partscaster. It’s what I would do if I had my own signature guitar.

BODY: MJT, alder (sorted for light weight), Nitro Graffiti yellow, light aging

NECK: Musikraft, thin C profile, 10-14” radius, ebony fb, stainless 6100 frets, Lumiglo side dots, aged clay dots, Ohio Valley Nitro Fender neck amber head and heal; unfinished oiled main shaft. Neck came raw from Musikraft; I finished it myself.

ELECTRONICS: Suhr Thornbucker+ and 2 Suhr V60LP’s (used the bridge single coil in the neck position). Suhr wiring and smart Suhr style switching by 920D Custom (singles see 250k and hum sees 500k)

HARDWARE: Kluson tuners, Jack plate and all screws aged by Axetreme Creations. Original Floyd Rose Nickel finish. Warmoth custom 2 knob mint-green pickguard

INSPIRATION: This was a tribute/culmination of my early guitar hero’s -
Vai: Yellow (I would stare at the desert yellow Jem in the Ibanez catalog for hours as a kid). Dimarzio clip lock strap
Nuno: similar Davies N4 neck profile and ebony fb
Eddie: well, it’s a partscaster/superstrat

Special thanks to Phil Jacoby of Philtone in Baltimore for attaching the neck, set-up, and PLEK job.

that is a gorgeous guit-fiddle man! very nicely done...

if it plays as well as it looks...

Awesome job. I have a MJT partscaster with Musikraft neck too and I live that axe. Nice touch in the Luminlays!

I love it...with one tiny exception. I can't abide a covered humbucker on a Strat.

Other than that, love the color, rosewood board, HSS, Floyd, relocated volume.

Have to admit, I was nervous. Sometimes you just pick up a guitar that is great on paper but it sounds dull or plays like crap. I got lucky, this one plays and sounds excellent.

Understandable. The covered hum is an acquired taste. Also, it’s actually ebony not rosewood.

Recently? Did he make a video about it?

I'd tap that

I like the retro + modern look.

Did you do the body aging or did it come that way?

If you could find some single coil covers that were more 'aged' and matched the knobs I think that would look even better. Congrats all around though.

Body aging was done by MJT. I’ve considered trying to match the covers and knobs but the old/vintage guitars I’ve seen show the knobs are usually much more discolored than the pickup covers because you touch the knobs much more often.

I had a feeling. Thanks for answering my questions. Enjoy it

Nice!!! Man, that looks like something you would find after a long day of searching for antiques and you find a gem. It is definitely one of a kind. Great job!
