Not sure what he was using. But i know that he tweaked the voice of the KR7.
And man sounded like we were both playing the same amp. He had his dialed in how he liked....as did I.
Seemed like the KR7 had more tonal options from what I remember. More push/pull gains....boosts....

Yup.

FWIW, the UL is probably my favorite amp of all time. Great at ANY volume and I always felt inspired when playing.

On another note, I have never played an amp that cut through in a band setting as well as the UL and CL's I owned.

50 CL w/EQ+REV that I pair with a VHT FB slant 4x12 with P50E's

Of the amps I own the 50 CL is right along side the 101B as my favorite.

One of my favorite amps ever. It`s the amp i owned the longest to date. My Peters might change that though. Well, on second thought, i will never sell the VHT, to much of a special tone. No amp can sound like it.

I love VHT/Fryette amps.

I love my 100 CL quite a bit and can never see myself getting rid of it (although I have posted a few times to sell in depserate need of $$$ situation) But am glad no one bought it I

Have never tried and UL first hand. Have heard them live at shows (we played with a band called Urn who is endorsed by Fryette) Had an awkward conversation of how we happened to have the same amp brand, same guitar and even the same strap. lol..

His amp sounded killer, would really love to try all of the Fryette amps but my most wanted to play would be the Deliverance.

I never tried the UL, but had a 50 CL that kicked ass. The one I had did not have the EQ on it, but it still rocked!!!

It is nice to have the eq. But honestly I dont use it much.

Depending on what room im playing in might not even use it at all.

When in my basement the only frequency I use is the lowest (boost a little)

But im using a front loaded cab and maybe another cab would call for me not using the eq at all.

Still nice to have but not 100% neccesary imo

The 101b has since been replaced by a 20th Anni XTC about a yr ago. Need to make some more clips of it up against my BE 100 and Ultra Lead for comparison sakes.
