If there is a meltdown I don't think holding worthless paper will do much to protect you vs the silver dollars that held actual value in and of themselves in 1929.
Better worthless paper in your hands rather than in the hands of worthless billionaires.

Remember, they already control you with something that's rapidly becoming worthless (just look at what you could buy 10, 20, 30 years ago with a dollar and what'll it get you now) without a peg of any kind as the US prints trillions of greenbacks and borrows from the international market.

That's why the rush to find a new "store of value" like cryptocurrency, which most members of the US government and their families have invested in.

Ok, I'll change it. But he can use my user name with a slight change and that's ok?

EDIT: Oh, and I forgot, copy my signature too!
I know who the dude is. The user-name-with-a-slight-change thing is nothing new to him.

As a rule we don't like it and have never encouraged it.

If you play those stupid games you're likely to win stupid prizes such as the membership's general disapproval.

You guys knock yourselves out. Just bear in-mind that frequent avatar changes make it harder for peeps scanning pages to recognise when you've posted.

That leads me to @JamesTiberiusKirk

We don't allow members to use others' avatars bro'.

TBS is still here as Picasso and he's of course welcome to use the TBS avatar if he wants to 'cause it's also his account.
I will definitely think about it, princess
Think about it quickly.

I think you have a different idea of what value is than I do. I have never thought paper money had real value, and stuff was still expensive years ago when less paper per hour was paid. Yeah it's worse now but what did anyone think would happen with pure fiat currency? I especially don't think crypto is worth anything other than to the guy at the top of the pyramid scheme who sets it up. It's a scam. People think their money will save them and I suppose to some extent it's a sort of shield (sometimes) but all the money in the world will not protect anyone on the day of death.

Ah, in that regard, if you look into the matter historically, it was decided at the Bretton Woods conference that the US dollar would be the de facto currency of global commerce after World War II. This appeared to be a consequence of the huge loans and arms purchases made by the US to other Western nations. No brown or Asian-looking or African people were involved in the conference.

My own reading was that a lot of people were paid off to ensure this was accepted by the Western powers, who were crushed by the amount of debt they had.

At the time, the US dollar was linked to the price of gold, which continued for decades, until it was found that cheques were being written that nobody's ass could cash.

At this point, the US dollar was delinked from gold in 1971, and it was stated that the guarantee of value would be a US commitment to honouring any payments in US dollars.

Fast forward to the modern day and the US debt-to-GDP ratio is over 100%. If it was any other country, their sovereign debt would have been reduced to junk status long ago. In fact, it has been downgraded quite recently, and as time goes by - it has been found that the US was borrowing $50 billion a month in recent times - the debt pile is growing, even as the global economy suffers headwinds.

Have you seen Trump foaming at the mouth anyone mentions a global or alternate currency for global trade? If that happens, the US economy will go belly up, because the weight of the debt burden - already unsustainable - will become impossible to service.

And amid all this sh*te, the idea that ones and zeros that have been accorded values as cryptocurrency - even though only a miniscule portion of the world population owns any Bitcoin - has gained traction as the rich try to preserve their dollar-denominated wealth by investing it in tokens that are being circular traded thanks to the anonymity bestowed upon their wallets.

The reason that no one is pointing it out - in the stock market, anonymity would guarantee that stocks were circular traded and that insider trading was rampant - is because once again, our ruling class is looking to hoodwink people and show them "we have always been historically rich".

It's a game, man. One of many, like I might have joked a long time ago about Jim Carrey's face. Except the most recent one is decidedly unfunny.

Interesting angle trying to paint the enemy as pedophiles, especially with what’s been happing in America loooooool
One thing I've discovered about modern right wingers is that every accusation is a confession. It's almost an iron law at this point.
