If so - whatcha running?

I've got an Ampeg 8 x 10 cab.

I switched from an Ampeg SVT 4PRO to this rig:

Mesa M6 Carbine
BBE Sonic Maximizer
SANSAMP RBI

And I have a guitarbug (forget the actual name of it right now) for wireless.

The rack case is heavy but my bass tone is godly.

I run my mm sterling 5 into an amped svt3pro into an amped svt410hlf cab.
Other rig is a fender Geddy Lee jazz bass into an Eden WTDI into a crown k1 power amp into an amped bxt210m cab.

:)

Spector NS2A, Fender Jazz > tuner, OD, Wah > Mesa M-2000 > Avatar 2x12

While playing bass for Shai Hulud I used a fender jazz into a sansamp into an axe fx 2 SVT model into a vht 2150 into an ampeg 8x10.

in europe jazz into sansamp into ampeg svt pro 4 into 8x10.

I fill in on bass quite a bit. Fender Jazz. Use whatever amp is available. My drummer has this amp that some famous bass player (I think he played with Sting) recommended to him at a NAMM show. Sounds killer. Not sure what it is. Nothing sounds like an Ampeg SVT with an 8x10.
There is some cool bass tech out there these days though.

Funny enough I think the SVT3s sound better than the 4s. Awesome.

How do you like the avatar 2x12? I had a 2x18 ampeg cab and Evan from Biohazard almost freaked out because it wasn't an 8x10 (they used my bands gear for a show). I had him try it and it couldn't find any problems with it so everything worked out. Some people freak if bass isn't coming out of a 10 inch speaker.

floor pedal or RBI? I brought my wireless and pedal sansamp on our Ireland tour and it worked great. Amp in a box!

My usual setup is a Rickenbacker 4001 through a Peavey Firebass 700 amp and an Ampeg 2x10 cab with a line out to the pa.

My other two basses are Peavey Grind 6 string bass and a Schecter studio 8 string bass.

How do you like the Rickenbacker? I keep toying with the idea of getting one. What genre of music do you play?

I'm in metal/hardcore

I have a Rickenbacker 4001 and a Nash P-Bass running through a Mesa V12/Powerhouse 1200.

I love the Rick, they have a distinct sound that cuts through. Few other basses get close to that sound.
I'm a progressive rock fan, my favorite albums (Yes Close to the Edge, Rush A Farewell to Kings, etc) all had that Ric bass tone.

just did four weeks in europe this year, did you see us?

Yeah I love playing bass too, gotta switch it up sometimes! I use either a 5 string MM stingray or 4 string MM sterling through a VT Bass pedal into a GK 400RB and Ampeg 4x10. Haven't had any bass gas in a long, long time using this setup! Might buy a 1x15 cab someday, but it's not going to be on the radar until I buy a house and have more space, lol.

After playing MM basses, I can't play anything else. Love 'em to death!

Musicman basses are great. I love my mm sterling 5.

Also, do a search on talk bass, they don't recommend pairing a 410 with a 115 for the most part.

the tour end april?

afraid not =( i work as a promoter/booker at a venue, not always easy to get to shows ,
last time i saw em was at groezrock last year, t'was truly epic, i could only see half the show though as further seems forever were playing 'the moon is down' album in full on another stage at pretty much the same time , major burn to decide between the two, but the FSF gig was pretty special to hear those songs again

I play guitar/sing in a cover band (rock from 90s and later) but I also play bass in a 3 piece original hard rock band.

I run:

EBMM basses (20th anniversary SR5 HS or Bongo 5HH)
Boss TU-3
Mesa boogie M9 Carbine
Mesa boogie Powerhouse 4x12

At rehearsal space I use the Traynor 2x10 amp with 1x15 extension cab.

Juggy is helping me put mine in place. So far an Ibanez SR 375-M 5 string awesome feeling and sounding bass. The neck feels so nice and fast. I am going to run an Acme 410 cab and still trying to work out the power section. So far I am diggin the challenge as it is not so easy to play at 220 bpm with your nubs...
