These craigslist scams are getting weirder and dumber

I get three emails on 2 of my items.. Do they even try anymore? Is there a scammer website where they get templates from or something?

I had one send the check to Joe Biden care of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.....I guess dude sent it, and then hit me back a couple days later, all irate that I hadn't sent shipping info yet......wanted to know when it was going to his courier.

I told him "if you actually sent a scam check to the VP of the United States of America, I really hope he deposits it, you take his cash, and then the Secret Service finds you and burns your life to the ground."

All scammers deserve death by fire.

I thought it was real, until minutes later I received another email with the above verbatim.

You got lucky.
In this kind of scam they basically just follow through with the pickup....maybe they even have you pay the pickup service from your money which you can deduct from the check they send you; by the time your bank finds out the check is fraudulent you're out the item + $ you gave the courier.

Another one I hear a lot about that works is that whole Nigerian prince/inheritance thing; you get an email that you inherited tons of cash or that a rich "prince" has left a significant amount of $ and all you need to do to claim is to send the scammers some cash for the legal proceedings/formalities then it is all yours. I read about an older woman on the news recently that was duped into this more than 5 times!!

There is a good Vice (99% sure it was VICE) documentary about this; some guys do this full time and catch enough idiots to make a living.

I think you can actually do it, I'm just too lazy for that, but at least I try to scare them off
