It not the be all end all but they definetly improved it .

I hated the volume thing on the Mk1 .it is apparently fixed
I dig not like the cleans at all --The new Fender and all the cleans across the board I find much improved.
The fx were horrid as you could not adjust speed depth or most importantly the mix --Now you can edit parameters.
so really they address all my issues .

Plus they they did something I really did not expect at all the smart harmony and whammy modelling .which really does track decently and sound good.

now they are going to release a computer editor and 28 free fx..for a coverband .the amp is a good deal . IMO they did a good job

Here is my old Spider Jam combo for sale.
Think its about 2 years old. Bought it brand new when they 1st came out.
I sold it to my Neighbor since I never used it. He used it for the Drum tracks....

Haven't read the whole thread but, why not just get one of the Atomic cabs for your Axe. Seems like you'd take about the same amount of stuff

Not saying anything wrong with SV mkII, I like L6 a fair amount...but ya have the Axe already, powered cab seems the way to go?

A Friend of mine has the 2x12 40 watt combo. I'm not impressed. I think the concept is great but the overall sound is too processed. He ran a Marshall with a bunch of pedals in front of it he got sick of doing the pedal dance and lugging a head and cabinet around. If you're looking for a nice small setup I suggest you take a look at either an Egnater Rebel 30 or Traynor YSC 50. Both amps have 2 channels, effects loop, reverb, DI Out and great all tube tone. Throw a delay and chorus pedal or better yet a Digitech RP1000 multieffects pedal, (which has a amp bypass switch built in) in front of them and they can replicate any sound you will need in a small package. I've owned both, still have the Traynor, sold the Egnater.

When you are talking about the volume issue on the first Spider valve, are you talking about how each patch was at a drastically different volume or how the volume pedal on the foot controller was super touchy? Both were pains in the neck...
