got this from Sweetwater... mighty tempting to pull the trigger on something :D

Super Gibson Financing!
Now you can get the best deal ever on any Gibson acoustic, electric or bass guitar — only at Sweetwater! Here's the story: Through December 31, 2011, purchase any Gibson instrument using your Sweetwater All Access Musician's Platinum Card and you'll get 18 months financing with no interest for your guitar or bass. But, it doesn't stop there! Anything you purchase on the same invoice — extra strings, a strap, an amplifier, a stand, picks, pedals, a PA system, software, keyboards, whatever you buy on that invoice will qualify for that same 18-months-no-interest deal!

Now you can buy the fully equipped rig of your dreams, centered around an awesome Gibson electric, acoustic, or bass guitar, and take up to a year and half to pay for it with no interest. (A minimum payment is required each month.)

This is the best deal ever offered on a Gibson guitar or bass and everything you need to go with it! Don't pass this offer up, place your order before December 31, 2011. Don't have a Sweetwater All Access Platinum Card? Apply for yours now!

just make sure and pay it off in time or it will incur all that interest

oh yeah, I am a professional taker advantager of the no interest thing!!! split the payments over a year and a half!!! that is awesome... really pretty much the only way I can ever afford higher dollar stuff...

Does it still work that way? It used to work that way when places offered No PAYMENTS no interest for 18 months. However that is now illegal to offer. So right now its no interest, but you MUST make monthly payments, and I believe the interest is applied to the remaining balance once 18 months are up.

That was one drawback of the Obama credit card bill that passed a couple years back. I liked a lot of the bill, but I liked the no payments no interest for 18 months better than just no interest. That way if you have a bad month (say unexpected medical bills or something) you can skip a payment if necessary. Whenever I bought something on a no payments no interest plan, I always ended up paying it off early for whatever reason.

yes you are right, minimum payments, but usually the minimum payments are very reasonable, not equally divided. But even so, one should pay what they would need to month to month so they don't get themselves in trouble.
