There are very few things better than a good round of golf. Even a range or short game practise session rocks. Inhaling carcinogenic smoke sure isn't one of them.

My best buddy was a voracious smoker. He recently got a COPD diagnosis. Another guy I used to gig with, one of the best blues musicians I've ever had the pleasure to hear, kept smoking even when he was on oxygen. He committed suicide by taking off the 02 mask and crawling (yes crawling) to the middle of the room and dying.

@Floyd Eye , I'll drop the asshole persona for a minute and say "please quit".

That's some nice lumber.

Ebony that dark is getting hard to find and expensive when you do find it.
Thank you. I purchased most of my wood pre covid so I understand what you mean. Ebony I can't remember the guy but he use to sell large billets covered in wax online and I'd just work them. A lot of times you'd get lucky on good wood if you looked at pics but it can also be a gamble and you get garbage. Hard game and I'd rather just pay. I think the one that is like 36x4x1 was from global woods off ebay.

Indian Rosewood I would contact manimusic on ebay from India. Guy made deals with me and was very fair with EXCELLENT Indian rosewood. I never seen better Indian Rosewood. All permits and everything legitimate. I'd get pics of the wood before buying too.

Anything else I'd buy from Exotic Woods in Burlington, A+M in Cambridge or BCW in Brantford is awesome for local maple/walnut and expanding a little into other hardwoods. Exotic Woods is the place go for most people if you're in Ontario. They have everything and can get anything. Prices aren't even that bad. Well worth it to go in there once and look around.

I think we should send Shart-vell Dan to fight CDawg

@shar-vell Dan is A okay in my book. He's got good taste in tubes and he's got the pump truck ready for some of the nice amps.

I just know if he gets a crowbar then he can move around some nice amplifiers and speakers with that pump truck.
Dan owning a pump truck is specious at best. Dan’s a hand truck guy.

He does have a nice Les Paul. And like me, he seems to be one of only a few of us that use strictly NOS glass instead of Chinese bullshit.

😂😂
Baron Trump will do more sitting on the toilet for 10 minutes than your fatass will do in 6 months charvel Karen
😂😂

@VonBonfire . The local guy I was talking about never had any commercial releases.

The one guy I can mentioned that I gigged with thru knowing the dead guy was Sonny Rhodes. Sonny was well past his prime by the time I got to play with him. Sad because he sat in with us once while he still had his health. He borrowed my 63 Strat and just tore it up. I got schooled.

Not that many years later he just sat, played the same few licks on a lap steel and sang a few numbers. The back up band would play him in and out every set with him doing 4 or 5 tunes in the middle. Still, he had that presence and people came out to see him.

Many thanks, this makes my friday night! He plays some premium blues, already listening and reading. Surprised I hadn't heard of him around Texas but it looks like he joined the military and wound up in CA during the 60's. His regular electric playing def sounds like a TX guy. Great stuff. Man Austin ain't what it used to be.....you'd be hard pressed to find a single blues band downtown tonight...

I have all Sylvania power tubes and RCA and Tungsram pres in my IIC+.

I'm on this list as well.
I used to be. Mullard or Gold Lion KT 66s are just too dear for us guys who don't record hit albums. The RI will have to do for me.

(I'm not saying I ever did or ever was good enough, I'm just pointing out how far away from that level I am at, and ever was, and that those guys are really the only ones who can justify having that kind of glass)

Even with the nice glass, I still play my Kemper 99% of the time...
