Probably my favourite Satch album - the first 'real' sounding LP he did. And Summer Song rules!

there's alot of good old satch stuff. alot of good stuff on the flyin in a blue dream album. i had it on cassette tape in 9th grade lol - now i have it on my laptop as mp3's lol

I went to see satch on that tour in NYC. Great stuff and still have the hat. LOL

"Tears in the Rain" makes for a great warm up stretch exercise.

I also remember when this CD came out it was one of the loudest at the time, always had to turn it down a little when it came up on the CD shuffle.
Great CD, but I usually play the Self titled one the most for its more organic production and tones from all instruments, so much more natural. Great on headphones. I wish he would stretch and do another album like that, the last few have been a touch too Satch-by-numbers for me.

I also had the Flying cassette in my car, t'was one of the only ones I had for a while so it was on endless repeat. I think those songs are embedded into my DNA now.

I remember seeing Satch at the Orpheum in Mpls in 89 or 90, on the Blue Dream tour. Stu Hamm on bass, Greg Bissonette on drums...just a phenomenal show.
