This is interesting. Rack mount GEQ ala Mesa Boogie.

Not to mention that the high voltages that are inherent in the original designs are not integrated.

There are much less expensive rack mount GEQs with more bands such as a DBX 215s (dual 15-band) or DBX 231s (dual 31-band), starting at $250.

One of the reasons I like my ISP Theta Pro gear, the GEQ....just wish it was not 1990s editing, was tedious back in the day with my ADA MP-2 and MQ-1 too.

I have a few GEQ’s and can’t get any of them to sound like my Mesa five band though with those certain frequencies that make every amp sound like a recto with the classic V. A parametric I can get close though. This looks cool, just not $1800 cool

I use a post preamp EQ to fine tune the main sound. Back in the day I used a MQ-1 after my MP-1; replaced both with a MP-2 that had a post-EQ...one of the reasons I like the ISP Theta Pro gear.

I get the Mesa aspects of these, but that's why I have a JP-2C with two EQs. :D

Yeah, out of all the EQ’s I’ve tried, nothing else sounds quite like the Mesa EQ. There are EQ’s I like more, but the Mesa EQ is definitely unique sounding, and gives just about anything you put through it a pretty distinctive Mesa Mark sounding EQ curve.

That rack EQ price is absurd though.

That's not going to sway me from getting the EQ pedal from Wayne. I'll put that in the loop before I add a rack.

I mean, for 500$ he'd probably sell a bunch. High, live voltages be damned.

At two grand, he's going to be lucky to convince one jackass out there

He must be using the Jack Stratton strategy.

I have a Mesa GEQ pedal and agree it shapes the sound different from other EQ’s, not sure why. I can get really close and sounding good with others but then when I switch back it always sounds better, could be in my head too.

Looks like a cool unit and would love to have a stereo version, but those prices are ridiculous.

I had two of those pedals and sold them. I've been searching for another, but they are hard to find. Then when you do find one, its $500. lol

I wish. Sold it to Steve K. Was a great unit.
I picked it up from Steve before he passed. I’m working with Mesa to try to get the “Phase inverted” mod to my Triaxis. As Psychodave, has said before running 2 Triaxis at the same time comes with phase issues.

I didn’t want to divulge who had it now. 😉
