I wanna get a GOOD SOLID acoustic, I'm looking at Martins but I wanna check out other brands that aren't maybe as known therefore similar quality and a bit less expensive.

I have about U.S.$2,000 no spend.

I want an OM body which are smaller

What do you suggest?

The usual suspects:

Martin
Taylor
Takamine
Guild
Gibson

Now add:

Breedlove
Tacoma
Yamaha (their handbuilt series)
Gurian (if you can find one used)

I'm sure I've left something off, but that's a solid start. I have an older Guild D25m that is killer, and way under your price range. If I were buying something new I'd take a hard look at Breedlove.

Sorry for an un-original reply, but:

T A Y L O R !!
I know you can easily drop $3K on one, but my 414ce (approx $1600) is the best acoustic I've ever experienced. Sound....Playability.....Electronic Flexibility...... Just everything about it is PERFECT!

It always gets compliments in live environments (especially from guitar players asking if I modified the pickups...which I haven't).......it records great.......and it always shines brighter than any other acoustic guitar player I play next to (and we all love that!!)

It took me years of trying...Gibson, Martin, Taylor, Huss & Dalton (awesome), Bourgeois (sounded great, difficult to play), Larrivee, Collings, Santa Fe, and many others. In the end, I bought and KEPT (the key  ) a Breedlove.

I've never played the Revival series, but you should be able to get certain used custom models for around $2K.

Here's my C2 Custom:

I gotta say Taylor all the way. I've been so happy with my 410CE. Killer guitar and they can be had under $1500 new.

thank you for all the replies guys.

I'm set on a Larrivée OM-03R :inlove:

hey go for 1,250 euros, but I found a used one in mint conditions for 700 Euros. I'm waiting on th seller response, I have my fingers crossed!

+1. I have a Taylor 414ce as well and get tons of compliments on its recorded tone. I usually double mic it, then blend in the direct right up the middle, mixes in perfect and sounds fantastic. Best and easiest acoustic I have played to record. Nice even tone.

Apart from that, I really enjoyed some Gibsons in the 2 grand plus range. A little fuller and deeper then my taylor, but I preffered the feel of the taylor.

If I could get into debt I would definitely go with one of this! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

Andrew White guitars!

Taylor all the way.

I have a 810ce and it's the best sounding guitar I've heard.

I have a Martin DC-1E that I really like. I played a bunch of other acoustics and just liked the Martin sound. The similar Taylor model was a really close second.

I've loved every Yamaha acoustic I've touched and there are a few Breedloves that knock my socks off. I enjoy both brands more then Taylor or Martin.

Tons of great acoustics out there. I prefer Taylors but ymmv.

It would be Taylor for me, maybe I'm too used to iced earth's accoustic passages
