This is what I'm going to do on Craigslist, just because.

I'm going to list a few "items" for sale for VERY good prices on Craigslist. Maybe a LP Custom for $1400 and maybe a Bogner XTC for $1600, not that I even own these items. I'm going to set it for email communication only and...........I'm not going to reply to a single email or communicate in anyway. I mean, isn't this how things are done on Craigslist? From what I've seen in the past 2 weeks it's a place you list great prices on gear, then don't bother answering anyone. And if I can hassle a few scammers while I'm at it that's just a bonus.

A guy was selling a mark iv for $600 in miami. E-mailed him, he sanwered from a different adress saying it was sold already but said he bought 2 of those on xxx bidding website (the ones you have to pay a fee every time you bid) for mad cheap. E-mailed him from a different account, exact same copy/pasted answer. k thanks bye

Would be an easy way to collect email addresses, if that's what someone wanted.

Craigslist hides your email address, even in replies now.

Not good enough prices, expect further hustling/lowballing.

Had one guy want to send me a check and have his shipper pick it up. Said "sure, send it to Joe Biden, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave".

Dude sent me another email a few days later asking why I hadn't deposited the check and sent the amp. I told him if he really sent a check to the VP of the United States and hoped to crash his account, the Secret Service was going to burn him alive and to quit sending checks to perfect strangers that ask for them. Got another one in the mail the next month for a different item. I think I'll collect around 30 of them and hit a check cashing place just to see what happens.
