So I brought a strat and am looking for an yngwie overdrive.. may just get the newer fender one but I came across this fuckin jerk off on ebay. Looks like he is hoping that someone buys his DOD yngwie overdrive for $50 and then charge them another $50 for shipping so he gets his $100. They get binded to pay for it or else they get a negative feedback.

What a dick. I hope thats a mistake, but I've seen this stupid shit before on ebay.. never that high though.

It is probably not cheap to ship a pedal from Russia, but I am guessing $50 is still on the high side.

 Ok, got me there. I didn't pay attention well enough and jumped the gun. Rant over

Well at least you're the buyer. A bad buyer can screw you over far worse than a bad seller IMO considering PayPal will always refund.

On the bright side there are no bids so if you wait till the last minute maybe you'll get the pedal for $75?

The best is when an Ebay buyer claims the item you sent them is fake when the item doesn't meet their expectations.

I sold a guy a car badge for 20 bucks, he angrily messaged me saying it was plastic and fake. He was expecting it to be an original ceramic one even though I clearly stated "plastic" and the part number as a Toyota replacement part. I even sent him the receipt from Toyota. Still categorically denied it and gave me bad feedback....

I recently won an auction for an SKB PS-45 for $45. After I won the auction, the guy cancelled it and refused to ship. Last year, I won an auction for a BC Rich Bich (real one) for $550 and the dude never shipped it. I had to dispute to get my money back. Ebay is the worst.

Shipping costs are clearly listed so that should be picked up IMO. However, you can report a seller's listing if the shipping is unreasonable. And for a pedal, there's no question it's way too high.

I sent a pedal to Russia two months ago by Priority International and it cost 63 usd.

The reason a lot of guys are selling stuff for a lower cost and asking more in shipping is because the fees are less that way.
Sounds like some of you guys haven't been on E-bay for a while? As a seller, its literally impossible to leave negative feedback for a buyer. No matter what. It's not even an option any more. EBay is all about buyers and treats sellers like shit in my opinion. The place sucks.

Boom. Correct.

Ever since eBay and PayPal split and are now separate entities, the fees have been jacked up. eBay now charges almost 10% seller fees. And then PayPal has to make their cut as well, so they charge a 2.9% transaction fee now. Think about it. That is pretty much %13 of whatever you make on an eBay sale GONE. It's not worth it to sell there anymore unless you have something that people really want and that you can get away with jacking up the price on. I used to never have a problem with eBay, and I would move high-dollar gear on there no problem. Now, I pretty much refuse to sell gear on there, and I only view the site as a last resort.

And boom. Correct again.

eBay: slowly turning into Craigslist on a national level.
