go to the 33:00 mark, he basically has the Analogman King Of Tone both channels engaged and the handwired TubeScreamer all at the same time...... the amps are Fender amps btw

dear god...specially at 33:22 when he holds that note.....

I saw KWS Shepard last month or so and he was great live.

For strat lead tones this will always be one of my favorites.

It is extremely good- like that it has some Early Clapton Humbucker tones kind of mixed in with the Strat Sound .

By the way -I like the idea of Strat on Steroids Tones- a good concept for Tone Chasing- especially a little cleaner than these would be cool.

I use a Tone pretty similar to Jimi's "Watchtower Intro"tone for Fusion Stuff- but not as powerful as these tones.

I'll have to check out some KWS-very cool.

Rebecca Dirks :inlove:

But seriously-good stuff. Sustain for days and like he said, it isn't harsh on the ears. Good stuff.

yeah, that's what actually impressed me about that tone, it wasn't that it was HEAVY, or anything like that, but the clarity and punch that had without losing the "strat-single coilish" tone which sometimes gets lost when you add higher output/noiseless pickups to a strat.

I definitely have to add a TubeScreamer to my pedalboard man.

Lovely.

I like how he magically managed to start the interview off with stating that he is not only an awesome guitar player, but has a lot of cars too.

KENNY!!! I am sure you could hook with RD if you wanted to... No need to bring your car collection into it :D

Thank you for that, yes it's true, then also Gary's 1961 Fiesta Red Stratocaster as well, that one in the clip is one of the first series of Fullerton '62 reissues.
Check out Cold Cold Feeling here with that guitar:

Also Roy Buchanon's "The Messiah Will Come Again", this tune Gary usually used his famous '59 Greeny, but in this rare clip he is using the Fiesta Red 1961 Strat:

It was this concert that turned me on to Gary Moore back in '84/85. It would just pop up on a late night, music show on ABC (like PBS) in Australia called Rage. Probably my favorite strat, rock tone ever.....sorry Ritchie :D

KWS's strat sounds interesting. I like the specs on it. I'd dig trying a white one except for that horrible cross.

Thanks for posting the Gary Moore clip...anytime I think of great rocked up strat tones that always pops to my mind. That concert and the Corridors of Power album is just chock full of it.

It's odd that they would put a cross on a sig guitar. VERY few people would ever buy that.
