This year's MusicMan JP...

I actually don't mind the new JP's body shape, the cutaways give you crazy access to all the frets, especially with that tiny lower horn not getting in the way of the wrist allowing you play classical style all the way up. As others have already pointed out it's somewhat of a cross between a ESP Horizon III and a Parker Fly an I'm somewhat biased owning an LTD Elite H-III myself. I'm sure it'll play great. Is this the first neck-through EBMM has done? Not so sure about the Game Changer electronics doing the pup switching for me personally, I'm sure it's great for guys who have a very computer sequenced rig.

The last model they just released was a neck-through: The Armada

I saw the similarities to the Horizon III/Fly as well.
I don't know. I just feel like with their build quality, reputation, and endorsees...they could release a better looking guitar with all of the fundamental things that you're looking for in terms of tonality, playability, upper fret access, etc, without it looking like something ridiculous. I suppose I am a bit old fashioned though when it comes to how my guitar should look...sometimes I even wish my RGD didn't have all the beveling haha.

Lol. Someone posted this on SS.org

Me too.
I dunno why companies evolve a winning formula so drastically. ESP did it with the Horizon Head Stock. That headstock was one of the coolest aesthetic features about those guitars & they changed it for no apparent reason.

That thing is ugly! Hope it plays and sounds great to make up for the looks.
