Here's the deal. I'm having a headshell built with dark red taurus for my IIC+.
I bought a bright red 1980's jcm800 cab with white label g12t-75's to pair with the amp. Only one I could find happened to be bright red tolex.
It's almost in new shape.
Dark red amp with bright red cab won't look to cool....but I know re-doing the Marshall will probably kill the resale value correct?

Is the red original to the head ?? Did they actually do some red ones out of the factory ??

ahhh I got it reversed ...

nice to see I'm not the only one that likes his Mark Series Mesa's into G12T-75's

Following.
I have a JCM800 4x12 with g12-65 that is pretty beat up and I am thinking of retolexing it. I`m reluctant as I`m, like the OP, not sure about killing the resale value

I’d be inclined to leave the cab in its original bright red telex. No, it won’t match your soon to be dark red headshell, but I don’t mind the mismatch. I almost think that lends some ‘cache’ to the whole thing!

I don't think re covering an 800 cab does anything to the value. It's when you go WAY back, to a 60s/early 70s cab where the value might take a hit. According to some vintage gear-knowing dudes on the Marshall forum.
