Thoughts on the Mesa Boogie Tri-Axis?

I thought you were waiting for the EG II? ;)

You can't do something wrong with the Triaxis. The Clean Sound is the best of
all of my amps. It is very versatile and if you manage the realtime Control you
have one of the best "toys" available. This means, you can swell the Volume with
a simple expression pedal on a MIDI Controller (Rland FC 200/300 or Behringer FC100)

Also you can create what I call "hidden Presets" i.E. you can literally blend
from an almost clean/crunchy sound into a Pantera high Gain, which makes
this Preamp to a "one of a kind" gear.

What I dislike about my Triaxis is that it has a dark voicing, I really miss
a bright switch on that amp. Every other amp I own (soldano/Elmwood)
offers a lot more brightness, which is something I really appreciate

If you can handle that (missing the brightness) it's maybe the way to go for you.

What are your favorite Bands/sounds? Can you name a list of all time faves?

Metallica - Master of Puppets
Pink Floyd
Nine Inch Nails <---- Got this covered by a fuzz pedal.

That is all I can think of at the moment, but yeah, I'm just really impatient....... :D
I'll probably just wait it out until the E2. :D

I really liked mine, I used it with a Marshall 2/50 pwr amp. The Marshall had voicing options you could externally switch for clean, and high gain settings with the triaxis. never had a problem with it in 3 years. I later changed because I just preferred a Marshall tone. Now it would be nice to have both :D

Well that should work - MoP was done with a Mark IIc+
and Hetfield still uses the Triaxis in combination with Diezel.

Metallica sound can easily created wth a Triaxis, cause if
you raise the Dynamic Voice Parameter, you scoop the Mids.

This is the Triaxis, Petrucci had to scale down his Rig for their
first european Tour in 1993 to a cheaper size...
So he was forced to do everything with his Triaxis

The first Rammstein records were done with a Triaxis and a Tech 21

It's a great preamp! Nice cleans, nice low gain, nice high gain and nice creamy lead tones.

Huh?

My Triaxis was bright.

My Egnater and Bogner are DARK!

BTW, I loved my Triaxis. Great cleans, Great rhythm sounds, great lead sounds.

Only things I don't like:

1. It's like 20" deep
2. It seemed to go through tubes fairly fast
3. Doesn't really do any Marshally tones
4. I NEVER used Lead 1 Red, it was like over the top chainsaw. HATED IT.

The triaxis is one of the best for what it offers.Ive had both versions and miss them both, as now I dont have either.Im currently running a Bogner fish, soldano x-88r,and a custom shop badcat preamp..I loved the boogie, but only used 4 presets at the most..I personally think its time for Randall Smith to update it,or come out w/ a 2 spc,4 sep.channel new pre.
