The D-Moll sounds like it's closely related to the Herbert, which is not my cup of tea when it comes to gain structure or EQ... Of the Diezel amps, I'd be more into the VH4, Marshall family of sounds.

I like the sound of the PT100 (never played one), though as a metal player, it would be interesting to finally hear some clips of the "new" PT100 that's supposedly been in the making for the last few years. The combination of Fender cleans with a hot-rodded Marshall is very appealing, if Suhr would add an "extreme" channel, I'd be totally sold on the concept – one amp for the entire range of sounds.

The PT-100 sounds a lot like my 76 super lead.
I think it sounds amazing, if your looking for Marshall sound.
The Diezel D-moll doesn't sound like the Herbert that I owned.
It has its own growl that the Herbert didn't produce for me.
I bet both of these together would get you sounding like Adam Jones but who would want to do that hahaha!!!

My Landry smokes both IMO. I'd get anything instead of a PT100. Owned one for a year and didn't bond with it

I would like to check out an OD100SE+ moreso than a PT100. It has more of an attitude type of gain tone that reminds me of my 5150. Between the D-moll and OD100SE+, i would still go with the Suhr amp IMHO. The D-moll seems like a tonal bastard child of a Hagen with herbert functionality.

How can I disappoint Now MO?! ;)
I've owned the CAA OD100SE+ PT-100
and currently the D-Moll and the CAA has a
completely different tone than the D-Moll,
it's positively Apples and Oranges!!
The CAA's are two of my Favorite Amps of
All Time and wish I could've kept them
Forever but GAS is a Bitch!
The OD100SE+ and PT-100 have a Killer Gain control
and the voicing is Geared toward an Old School, Hot Rodded
Marshall-esque Type of Grind. The OD100SE+ has
a voicing more in the Mid/Lower Mid spectrum, while
the PT-100 is voiced a little Brighter in the Mid/Upper Mid
spectrum, while Sonically almost Identical, to my ear's.

The D-Moll sounds like a Diezel, completely it's own Tone.
It has a nice Open/Mid, Less/Compression than the Herbert
and VH4. An Over the Top, Quality Tone where the Chords
Bloom and the notes just sing! I've always been an EL-34
Man but I'm really diggin' the KT-77 Power Section, nice
Deep Thud with a Crisp Mid Bite.
The D-Moll is DEAD QUIET, which is a Huge
surprise for a High Gain Amp.
Anyone, feel free to PM me with any questions...
I'll do my best to answer them from my own
experience.

Hi Inca,
Happy D-moll onwner here since few weeks, still exploring this beast and having a lot of fun.
It's my first Diezel amp, so I am not familiar with all these beast can deliver.

Could you give me your opinion on which Diezel cab fits the best the D-moll ?
I only have tried the Diezel 2x12 RL v30s and I really liked the clean and crunch sound on it, so I took it.
I am having some trouble getting a proper sound for very high gain settings, without losing a little bit definition.

I owned a Landry for a short time. I don't think it has much in common with the Diezel or Suhr's of the world. I wouldn't exactly call the Landry a high gain amp, especially not compared with the others. Diezels and Suhr amps have a lot more gain but the Landry sounds a LOT more Marshally than the others. I can see why you'd pick the Landry but I can see 85% of this forum picking either of the other 2. For anything from the 70's the Landry is better.

I had the PT-100 a year. I'd take the Diezel sight unseen over it, that's how much I didn't like it.

I think when you use El34;s (correct if i am wrong on PT I think thats the glass it uses) you can only go so far.
Because the 34 will compress and add color as it is cranked, to much preamp gain can yield undesirable results.

The Diezels, Uber really modern amps use the bigger glass KT77 88, Then you have a big clean power section ,you can ramp up the gain and saturation in the pre amp stages a bit .

just my opinion

Hey Bro,
I run my D-Moll through an Engl Pro 4X12
Front Loaded with 8 Ohm Celestion V30's
with Great results on the High Gain settings.
It's a very Thick, 14 Ply Siberian Birch Cabinet
designed to have Tight Low End Bass and a
Punchy Midrange.
I think being Front Loaded with a Diezel amp
is a Plus. It stay's Focused and Punchy without
any Flubb, with Tons of Low End Thump.
I think a Diezel Front Loaded Cab, would be
a step in the right direction.
Take a Hard look at the Engl Pro 4X12 also,
that is my Cabinet of choice!!

I have a PT100 that has been sitting silent with the cover on it for months. Not that I do not like it or that the tone is bad, my Diezel VH4 and 59 Plexi reish just has that it quality.

Inca can we get clips?

Absolutely.
I'm waiting for my Buddy to return
my ZOOM that he borrowed.
As soon as I get it back, I'll make
a decent video.

I had an OD 100SE+. Wicked, wicked amp. Bit of a 1 trick pony I thought though. That 3SE+ preamp is legendary.

I think I'd take the PT100 over a D-Moll. Always a matter of taste, or course.

I love what Diezel brings to the table.

That said, I'd love to spend some time with a Carol-Ann as well as a CAA and get to know them. Can't pass judgment till ya played one.

However, knowing my batting average with Diezel? I'm hornin' for a D-Moll just to say I have had the pleasure

Thanks Inca.
I will definitely go & try a FL cab with D-moll just to see how different it is from my RL.
I hope they will have both FL with v30s and G12K100, don't want to miss the right one.
