Thunderstorm on my Herbert

I suppose I need to change my preamp tube(s). anyone else ever get this thunderstorm crackle /pop type sound?


edit: was V2 channel 3 preamp tube.

i just got my amp back from the repair shop i did try to retube my herbie but it ended up being a cap on the circuit board
might want to look into that

Usually a bad preamp tube. Try a known good one and replace V1 for start.

Your probably correct! I usually mess around w/ pre tubes and I had a hard time getting some to work at all. (Ones that would work in other amps no problem.) I'll look into it.

No clouds and it' a sunny day now on my Herbert. Saves me some big $$$ for now!
