Talk about flying under the radar though with Joe Holmes. I mean, the guy doesn't even have a freaking myspace page. The guy has been out of Ozzy's band for 8 years and hasn't done squat. He doesn't have a buddy that could do a little myspace page to talk about this new album with a few teaser clips as talked about on the thread on Huge Racks? He couldn't prop up a video camera and do a minute long You Tube clip? Give us something, ya know?

Is it true that he married into money? I hope so. Now come on Joe. Rip our faces off with those Jose's.

Have you tried the Bare Knuckles VHIIs? I think I have a set you can borrow to try. You are welcome to give them a try.

I was just going to recommend that set

like bending over completely nude while looking over his shoulder back at the camera giving us all a wink ;)

 :loco:  :hys: :hys: :hys:

Any of these modded marshall`s do not sound right. They sound to heavy or something, imo. Joe Holmes was around for 15 min. so i wanna hear what he is supposedly doing myself.

FWIW, my Jose has a ton of gain, but not nearly as much as you think if has. I can play my Aldrich Cameron and it is a bit more distant sounding and very saturated. Then playing my Jose Cameron, the sound it right up front and f'ing huge. For a 50 watt amp, it cam compete with a 100 watts headroom. I couldn't imaging what it would be like if it were 100 watts.

I am glad I went with the big iron for the mod, the 1987 was killer but the SLP at volume is just the biggest smile producer I have played yet in regards to hot rod marshall :D Fuller and more bottom end. Super tight sounding.

Listening to your Camerons and Mike's stuff I would be very happy with either, Mike is just a tad more avalable today to get things done. Would love to hear Dan's Ocean next to the Fortin to see how that woud stack up, that was my favorite Cameron that I have heard.

Trying to be polite
Poor Mark, doing his best....but it will just never do for some people.

Mark is a friend of mine, but dang man, he should be rolling down Ventura Blvd right now in an AMG Mercedes, lighting his cigars with $100 bills.

I dont know if he is good in the sack, but I still get a boner playing my Cameron amps :D

I think we'll have to look through some of your old YouTube vids a bit closer.

  :D

Brings new meaning to "that's a creamy-sounding amp".

Anyone know what year his Strat was? I'm curious if the bodies were ash or alder.

His strat bodies are all alder. They were clones of the old Charvels he always used. He stopped using the Charvels as soon as grunge hit in an attempt to be more hip and current. So he bobbed his hair and used 1990's approved '70's strats and then heavily modified them. To call these guitars Fenders though is pretty much a joke. He takes the freaking fretboards off and has new, 22 fret, Charvel radius and jumbo fret fretboards installed. Then he has Jackson J-80 pickups installed.

I think it would be safe to tell Joe he can start playing Charvels again. Doug Aldrich too. Doug switched from Jacksons and Charvels to Fender strats and Les Pauls at the EXACT same time Joe did and for the EXACT same reason. Hey Joe and Doug, it's 2009...... it's ok to rip and shred again and to play guitars that are built for it.

LP's aren't built for shred?

If you are extremely manly you can shred on a Les Paul. You do notice very few shred guys ever played Les Pauls? I would imagine they were aware of them yet somehow none of them ever picked them up. :D

I thought Les Paul's were built for tone danyeo. Which is it now? :D

Danny had his rig set 6 years ago, MK IIC+ and LP and for some reason started the chase :D

Both :D There's a reason that LP's are considered the best rock guitar. Of course it doesn't have to say Gibson on the headstock though. After playing Suhr's, Andersons, Charvel's, etc, the only advantage i see is slightly better upper fret access because i never thought i played better on the Superstrats.

And i feel that most of the shred guys weren't playing LP's because of Eddie Van Halen. He was soo popular that everyone wanted a superstrat to emulate him. Randy played LP's but i don't think he was as popular as Eddie.

Slightly better access? Tad of an understatement heh?

When they use the Axxess heal on all LPs I will start to listen.....well shave down the rib spreader as well.
