holy shit that is awsome. i cant believe the lead guitarist design his own amplifier, built it, and was an MIT grad with a 4.0

HE was also on the Kodak project team that developed the instamatic cameras

Genius is thrown around these days, Tom is a genius.

i was thinking Polaroid, or was this a Kodak product?

I cant remember which camera it was, maybe the one that had a radar type device that would measure distance??

Have to look around.

How are you liking the amp?

I told you the sox were getting ready to get hot

5 game series against Detroit will not be easy with their top 2

Detroit has 1 good pitcher now in Verlander. Edwin Jackson has come back to Earth, i dropped him from my fantasy team. All the Yanks have to do is win a few more games and it's done. They've been soo hot since the All-Star break they were bound to lose a few games. And i don't expect to see Joba in the first round at all.

Now, were we talking about amps or something originally?

Yeah, WTF? Are you missing the raw unmolested Marshall SLP 100W you once had?

I'm on the phone with Scott now and the answer to your question is NO :hys:

  To get the Unmolested Marshall stock circuit with the Cali mod, set the controls to the following: Depth off, Master maxed out w/ saturation switch set to center position for no clip circuit, Gain 2 set to about 9 o'clock w/ bright switch set to center position, then you just ride the Gain 1 pot just like the bright channel of a 1959 and set the bright switch to the left for the stock bright cap and you have the stock plexi circuit path but it won't hiss like a stock one because of the grounding and DC heaters

I still have the ability to feel the need.......the need for raw SLP  ;)

I have had a flu bug since the day after the amp showed up and my head feels like Rocko and Sal poured half of Jimmy Haffa's coffin inside of it. I will write my review in all its beautiful glory in a day or two but I know this......................You would love this amp, this I am very sure of.

btw.................cotton spongebob loverpants boxers just for you
:inlove: :inlove: :emofag: :grim: :cheers2:

Here's another Cali mod with a Loop and footswitchable 2nd Master on the back with it's own assignable 3 way saturation switch.

Hey Mike,

Sorry for the lack of formal review, as I wrote to my lover I have been freaking sick with some flu bug so playing has been slow. These setting do work very well

About the hiss, this is the quietest high gain amp I have ever played

I've heard this all before   I will have to say that I have been disappointed way too many times with any Marshall mod I have had and I had a lot, probabaly all the ones available except for this Martin Golub guy. I'm a bit more skeptical than I once was so it is very nice to hear that Scott is liking his Fortin California Modded Marshall SLP 100W Reissue. Now, if you could make one of my Marshall 100W sound like this, I would consider.

I think for the sounds you like bro you've got it covered. I don't think that you would need a mod like this since you've got your sound dialed in!!

With that said, I know better then to click that link :hys:

No problem man, I completely understand. I'm a guitarist myself and have had my share of amps as well ;) I wasn't trying to convince you to get a Cali mod, just point out that you can still get the stock circuit out of it. This mod is not for everyone.

Now to give you an idea of how the Cali mod sounds in stock Plexi mode, check out this clip:

Cheers,
Mike

No worries Scott, I know that you are still experimenting with all the switches and controls
Thanks man, I'm glad that you noticed the low noise floor
Talk soon,

This is donbarzini's plexi
There are many like it, but this one is donbarzini's.
donbarzini's plexi is his best friend.
It is donbarzini's life.
donbarzini must master it as I must master my plexi.
Without me, my plexi is useless.
Without my plexi, I am useless.
I must play my plexi true.
I must play straighter than my enemy who is trying to chop my head.
I must chop his head before he chops mine.
I will...
Before God, I swear this creed.
donbarzini's plexi and donbarzini are the defenders of Rig Talk.
They are the masters of our enemy.
We are the saviors of my life...
So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace!
