To be able to exit faster in case of an emergency. This is what people think. Of course, those in the know realize that the "Back up/tear out" is the first move in establishing "I am outta here" domination.

I always park "on" the line on one side, head in.

That way I assert dominance by taking up two parking spaces.

Also, makes it easier to load in when I come outta the store.
