Today’s Efforts

It’s fucking raining. Again. This is the 6th (7th?) fucking day in a row. Wednesday last week was a “1,000 year flood” event, bookended by multiple inches of rain on either side. Non-stop thunderstorms. It has been a “once in a lifetime event”. I’m fortunate. The yards are flooded, but the houses are not even close to danger. Others, not so much.

Since it’s raining and I can’t hang by the pool (), I’m in the kitchen. I made home Ranch dip, and homemade Ranch dressing and homemade Caesar dressing.

I just cooked blackened chicken breast and it is resting. Making a concerted effort to eat healthy. Takes a lot of prep work..

We could use some of that rain down here. Was a couple sprinkles last night but mostly it's just 100 degrees day in and day out. I love the heat but it gets a little old by August. Blackened chicken breast sounds dang good. Ol' lady is cooking some breakfast tacos up this morning.

If only there was a way…
Some areas have gotten close to 20” of rainfall this week. As said, we’re fortunate because we are on (very) high ground out of “harms way” Small blessings…

Man, you guys have just been getting hammered. We just keep missing the heavy shit, and it goes south and then cruises up to you, those winds the other night south of Chicago were insane. Hope you guys stay dry as much as possible.
