Does anyone know how to get in contact with Todd Langer,Todd did some great marshall mods and was chief engineer at ADA,he engineered the MP-1 pre-amp.

Good question, I believe someone here knows that information.

As far as i know, Todd got out of the amp business a long time ago and doesn't do anything like it anymore. From what i understand, shortly after he launched his own company, a flood put him out of business and he went in a different direction from then onwards.

From what i heard, he is now in the TV/Film industry and has no interest in the music business anymore.

I heard Todd was building studios. Maybe that's for the film industry. This was a while ago though... Nobody seems to know how to get a hold of him, which tells me that's how he wants it. Too bad. Hellova guy and a really talented tech. With Marshall mods being all the rage these days, he could open up shop and be competing with the big boys in no time.

I know he modded some Marshalls for Gary Holt, who posts here sometimes. Maybe he knows, but if he does, I bet he's sworn to secrecy. Nobody I know, who knew him from the Bay back in the day seem to have any info.

I have played a TL modded Marshall and it was the best amp I ever played period.

Gary Holt told me that he his modded TL Marshalls were the best he ever did. The trouble is, he played them so much, that he had to get them serviced, and they never sounded the same since. Which is a shame.

Tim is a great resource on him:

How did Todds mods compare to jose arrendondo mods.

Not close at all IMO. Todd's stuff sounds like the bay area thrash tones and has a shit ton of usable gain on tap, whereas Jose's stuff wasn't as gainy and has a more classic 70s/80s voicing IMO.

He's not doing mods now. He kind of fell off the map, I have not heard anything by him in years.
I would not call his tone thrash at all, at that time it was one of the more modern tones I ever heard. His Marshall mods sound NOTHING like the ADA stuff. There is a lot of questionable stuff running around out there, most of it is schemmy's with no voltage charts, which is really like getting a new Ferrarri with no keys   He upped the voltage in key areas quite a bit. On mine the power supply voltages to the pre tubes is quite a bit higher
His work was not always the neatest out there, but his tones were huge. Listen to the old Viscous Rumors stuff from the 80's, that is Todds sig tone. You can youtube them
Even today his stuff sounds fantastic, I hate we lost him

His tone was different per request. A lot of the bigger thrash bands used his modded JCMs.

Andy Sneap keeps nagging Gary Holt to buy his off him, haha. He has a couple apparently.

2-3 years ago, $700 was expensive on ebay for a DCP-1.

This, I bought mine for $500..... I should've kept it.
Agree...I had 2 of them. Both bought directly from Todd for $400 apiece. 2nd one had an additional gain control on the back. Wow, file that in the wish I had kept them list of gear I've gone through.

Lol..you. What about me haha. Geeze I also had an MP-1 that Todd modified as well. Ugh, I'm kinda feeling sick. Actually through Facebook I ran into one guy who I sold my first Langner too...gonna ask him if he still has it. The gent i sold my other one too let it go years ago. No kidding, $400 apiece
