So I've been thinking lately about picking up some Scumbacks since everything I've heard with them sounds awesome. At the same time, I'm happy with what I've got in my cabs at the moment. That usually means that it's time for a new cab........ so... Time for something with class.
I did a little digging on Kreigsliszt and found a trm cab close to my place with a WGS ET65 and a Vet30. Pretty normal specs on the cab, 2x12, closed back, pine( which I wanted since my other cabs are baltic birch.) I also hadn't tried any WGS stuff before, so for what I got I consider it a solid pickup. +1 on that
This is how it started out

Step 1: Open the box

2: Put yo Junk in that Box

Materials

Grillcloth On

One side glued on

3 Sides done

Seam. I think it turned out really well for my first time. A few threads, but a solid line.

Wrapping it up

Tolexing the back

Time for Piping!

Fronts all set

Before installing the handle and speakers

Done! Putting the handle on was actually the most time consuming part of the whole project.

Sexy Back!

Without Flash

I'm really happy with it, haven't gotten a chance to play it since I got it finished, but I've got 2 solid days of no plans, so I'm set on that. It only took me about 2-2.5 hours or so from start to finish which is nice cause I tend to start projects sometimes and just let them sit half done.

Dewd... gratuitous skin, um, hair shot was totally unnecessary. I verped.

Anyway, cab looks great.

Who knew Tom Selleck was an RT guy? :D

All jokes aside, very cool man! Great job!

Thanks for the kind words guys! I had a chance to record some quick clips with it, and I'm really impressed with the cab. It sounds awesome, pine is definitely a different beast than birch.
Here's a link to the clips. For the Vet30/ET65 clip the Vet is on the left and ET is on the right. Also keep in mind that the speakers aren't broken in yet. Both had maybe an hour when I got them, and I still really like how they sound.

Yeah...that pic with your junk in the box..could do without..lol...but...is that a ufo flying in the air outside in that pic? upper right corner of the window? LOL

What glue did you use?

I used contact cement on the last one I did. Took forever for the smell to go away. highly flammable as well.

It looks fantastic.

Absolute stellar job. Love DIY projects that come out looking like they were done by experts!

Thanks, I used 3M Super 77. Seems to have worked pretty well so far, smelled a little when I used it but after I had everything covered I didn't smell it at all.
