Minimum price of an LP custom is $4000, some are over $40,000.
There there is lawyer country in my book.
I don't know anyone that pays $4K for a Custom or $40K. You can get new CS LP Customs, R7's and R8's for $3K all day long and USA Traditionals for under $2K. Why spend $3-4K+ for bolt on look-a-likes that sound nothing like a LP when a LP is what you want?
I'm not saying Gibson doesn't make overpriced models because they obviously cater to the corksniffers too.
i'd spend 3 or 4K for bolt on that will sound better than most LP's, not fret out or buzz, neck will feel like butter, and the frets are dressed to perfection.
i like Gibson, but the fact of the matter is that my Gibson has issues and it came that way. my Anderson doesn't, and it came that way! maybe Gibson is better now since they're Plek'd?
with the smaller builders you're getting better QC!
