Well hello to all my fellow gearheads !

Here is my problem : I have a custome made guitar which has Tom Anderson stacked humbucker pickups. I love the tone of this guitar but unfortunately, the middle and bridge pickup see m to be dead !
The output of the neck pickup is still the same and it sounds great but the other two have super-weak output ( half the volume of the neck...). I've already gone over all the wiring and switches, etc with the guy who built the guitar and he says there's nothing left to do but new pickups.
Here's where the problems really start !!!!
Tom Anderson no longer makes the SD-2 stacked humbuckers and, even though I sent them 2 emails, I have no idea which of their new pickups would sound like the SD-2...

So what do you guys think ? Which of the Tom Anderson pickups do you think would come close to the ones I have ?

If not Tom Anderson's, which pickup would you recommend ?

Thanks,

BluezMax

I would give Toms shop a call, they're CS is excellent and are just plain ole great people to talk/deal with.

I´m surprised that you didn´t get a response, normally Tom himself answers within a few days. They use some funky spam filter, though, so it´s entirely possible it ate your messages. Give him a call, and they´ll give you all the answers you need.

The SA series replaced the SD series...they're what you're looking for.

Thanks for the replies guys !

I did email Tom again and he replied amazingly fast, even though he is on vacation !!

He recommended the SA-2 series as a replacement.

I guess I could have given more details. Those pickups are mounted in a Strat type Korina body with a birdseye maple neck with maple fretboard.
I play it through a Peavey Delta Blues with JJ Tubes and a Weber single 15".
I play mostly modern electric blues. I usually play rythm in the humbucker position with the volume down a couple of notches and hit the coil tap switch and the volume for the leads.

So my question would be :\
I guess I would need an SA2R for the middle and an SA2+ for the bridge. Would those pickups match the last working SD2 in the neck position as far as tone, output and do they rect the same when split ?

I did send this question to Tom but like to have different pints of view about it.

Thanks,
