Tommy Folkesson modded Marshall

Sounds great, not quite what I expected from him, Ive listened to his mods for a lot of years and the single channel amp mods sound a bit more aggressive to my ears. Maybe this mod is not a full on version of some of his other stuff? Or possibly having the other channels with the associated switching and other goodies takes away from the circuit just a bit? I know Henric Hermannson (who knows Tommy's mods better than anyone on the planet but Tommy) seems to have taken that circuit and refined it to its ultimate level of gain with clarity and grind can do the multi channel versions while taking nothing away from the high gain section of the circuit.
Not to take anything away from him, he does killer mods, some being among the better Ive ever heard. he may have gotten exactly what he was going for with this one, not sure..
OK, I'll stop whining, it still sounds great :D

Fun to watch. I like everything except the metal sounds. Granted, I didn’t see him fumble with the knobs.

sounds good to me.. have you guys heard of this modder? he's doing a cameron/ gower type thing:

Just a young guy at home who had Gower do some mods and after some tinkering has suddenly appeared as a ‘company’ that mods amps.
I like his vids, esp. his obsession with Joe Holmes. For mods, I’d stick with the guys with experience.

That sounds amazing. Note clarity and percussiveness sure stands out even with the metal switch engaged. Love how the tone sounds so upfront and not buried in useless gain.

It’s cool to see people tinkering and there are a few guys doing these mods (and their “own” amp builds), but the thing most of them, if not all, miss is being able to fix and trouble shoot an amp. I highly doubt every amp them mod is in perfect working condition... it I’m sure the just pop in their models and send it on it’s merry way.

A good point. It takes time to pay your dues in the amp modding world.

Gotta start somewhere though, right?

I've been modding and repairing since 2005, but the reality is that it is a hobby and I rely on my day job. Ultimately, I know my limitations technically, but more importantly, I don't have the business acumen or desire to enter into a long term business commitment. I've never come across an amp I couldn't fix and I've had many people reach out to me for mods as well as ground up builds, but I reject all offers for the previously listed reasons. It's not fair to yourself or customers. Unfortunately there are alot of "paint by number" or "copy cat" builders and modders in both the amp and pedal industry, some on this very forum. They embellish the uniqueness of there design, when the reality is that most times, its someone esles design, with a few minor but close value changes. There are only few modders/builders that I though brought their own true uniqueness to designs, and that is Bogner and Cameron. I am not going to copy a Cameron circuit, make a few trivial changes and call it my design.

Wow that last video posted was incredible. That is the tone!

The Mark VII is basically a 4-channel version of his "eternal classic" mod which is less invasive and a detour from his earlier stuff :)

Tried to get a mod in early 90`s no dice only for people in EU don't know how it is now, probably costly.
