Tone chasers ---did you ever notice you probably have everything you need...

In the last year I have learned that it doesn't matter what gear I have.
There is a tone in my head and every knob I turn gets to that tone somehow, someway...
 
Yes, every time I spend $4K and up on a amp or guitar only just to realize what I had worked just fine. For about a year or so I was happy with all the gear I had. During that time I focused on my playing and I feel I made great strides. Then like Covid it hit me and I had the fever (Gas) again. No shot would cure it only buy buy buy

Something that helps me is when I see that amp or guitar that I have to have (the only thing I will need for the rest of my life) and I start watching those videos to BUILD that GAS ⛽️ I simply start watching videos of the amps or guitars that I have and it seems to relieve the gas….. most of the time

The more I gig the more I realize how little I actually need....I end up playing the same two albeit killer guitars and my Wizard...everything else is just sitting and basically money in the bank

Hell yeah! I have enough gear, but constantly wish I bought more before the plandemic… better then money in the bank since then

Well --- out of 20 plus guitars there's about 10 that sound great and I've had 8 them forever . Same with the amps . I have a few recent purchases but the 6 knob Marshall beauties trump them all so that's what I'm playing ---For now . I've unloaded a bunch of stuff with no regrets .

I decided if I practice more my gear will sound better LOL !!

Not sure how long with state of mind with last but I'm taking alot of GASX !!!!!

Need, yes. But your thread title mentions 'tone chasers', and need has little to do with it!

Variety (especially for recording) is what makes the process creative and fresh, but beyond that it's just fun trying new amps and new amp/cab combinations.

I mean you could go to your favourite restaurant again and again once you've found it, or you could keep trying more and more varied places to keep your taste buds stimulated. The latter is lots more fun, even though you're going to have some terrible meals along the way ?
